Caricaturing

The Caricature was a hit. She was the perfect fit for the children, very friendly and patient. We had a lot of children that attended and I was amazed on the fast pace. I plan events all the time and I will definitely be booking again.

Caricaturing

We ended up cancelling our event :( but she was so nice and quick to respond with samples and availability - Looking forward to rescheduling when all the down trees are out of my pool and yard. :)

Jane drew caricatures of my wife and I that we were so pleased with. She sketched very quickly while making friendly and funny conversation and was able to catch a likeness that also made us laugh with her lively and humorous interpretations! Jane is also a skilled portrait artist -she sketched a beautiful charcoal portrait of a good friend of ours and we were all impressed with the results!

It was fun to have a marvelous caricature done by a really competent artist. Additionally, at another sitting I got an actual portrait executed that is my wife's favorite.

Jane is a wonderful person. She is lively and has a good sense of humor. So when she is doing a portrait she talks to the customer in a fun and friendly way making the experience more enjoyable. I'd recommend her to anyone wanting portrait or caricature work done.

FAQs

  • What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

I am willing to negotiate my price with customers who have special requests outside of the hourly pay rate. I am willing to work an extra 15 minute, approximately, however it goes a half-hour over time, I will need to charge extra. I will add a small travel fee for any distance more than 30 miles from my home,

  • What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

When a customer first contacts me, I will ask them more about the type of event I will be working at. The customer will then explain in more detail the kind of work they would like me to do. We will then talk about the set-up, and what I will need to bring to the event. If all this goes well, and we have a good connection, hopefully the customer will hire me for the event!

  • What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

I hold a B.A. in Studio Art from Smith College. An Educator's License in elementary education, and taught for seven years in the Westfield, MA public school system. I have lived and traveled abroad working as a painter, portrait and caricature artist. Presently, I continue to create and exhibit my artwork. And I draw caricatures at Yankee Candle, in Deerfield, MA.
