FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
We believe in Flat-Rate, No-Surprise Pricing. We don’t want you watching the clock while we work, so we don’t charge by the hour—we charge by the job. Here is exactly how it works: 1. The Diagnostic Fee (Service Call): We charge a flat fee of $79 to send a certified technician to your home to perform a full inspection and provide an exact quote. 2. The “Waived Fee” Guarantee: If you choose to move forward with the repair, we waive the diagnostic fee entirely. You only pay for the parts and the labor for the fix. 3. National Standard Rates: We use the Appliance Blue Book (the national industry standard) to price our labor. This ensures you are getting a fair, market-rate price regardless of how long the repair takes time. 4. Discounts: We are proud to offer a 10% discount for seniors, military veterans, and first responders. We also offer a ‘Multi-Appliance’ discount if you have more than one machine that needs attention during the same visit.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
We’ve streamlined our process to be as fast and transparent as possible, so you aren’t stuck with a broken appliance for long. Here is what you can expect: 1. Initial Consultation (The Chat): When you reach out, We’ll ask for your appliance’s brand and model number, along with a brief description of the problem. Often, We can give you a rough idea of the issue right here on the Thumbtack chat. 2. Scheduling & Communication: We’ll find a time that fits your schedule. You’ll receive a confirmation message and a text when the technician about 20–30 minutes away from your home, so you aren’t stuck waiting in a 4-hour window. 3. The Professional Diagnostic: Once on-site, the technician perform a full inspection using advanced diagnostic tools. We don’t just guess; We find the specific electrical or mechanical failure. 4. The Transparent Quote: Before the technician turn a single wrench, we provide a clear, flat-rate quote for the repair. We explain exactly what happened and what parts are needed. If you choose to do the repair, the diagnostic fee is waived. 5. The Repair & Cleanup: Most repairs are completed on the spot using the stocked inventory on our truck. After the fix, we test the unit through a full cycle to ensure it’s 100% functional. We always leave your home as clean as I found it. 6. Warranty & Follow-Up: You’ll receive a digital receipt and a written warranty for your records. We’ll follow up a few days later to make sure everything is still running perfectly.
