Hired on Thumbtack
STAY AWAY. Peter was incredibly aggressive and made me feel unsafe in my own home. He messaged me multiple times demanding to know my address before I had agreed to anything, and then called me on the phone because I didn't respond quickly enough. I told him specifically on the phone, I'm ONLY looking for quotes, not going to commit to anything right now, and he said, ok so I'll come out just to look at the piano. So despite my better judgement, I scheduled a time for the following day. He then showed up and tried to bully me into purchasing over $1400 worth of work, and when I pushed back, he demanded that I pay for a $147 tuning, simply for coming out to talk to me. He then threatened to send me to collections and "ruin my credit" for something I never agreed to. It's a good thing Thumbtack records the phone conversations made through their platform. I had to repeat myself half a dozen times to get him to leave. Not to mention the racist comments he made when referring to the black piano keys. He then had the nerve to message me again the next day asking when I was going to hire him. Do not hire this man, especially if you live on your own.
