We had an older roof that needed to be stripped and the planks removed and fixed or replaced with plywood. At this point we had the job quoted by 5 other contractors, each of them with a similar offering from GAF. With the pitch of my roof, we needed a ventilation system to ensure the life of the roof. It’s important to me to have a project well presented and explained because it’s in my nature as an engineer. It’s also important that I let the contractor tell me his best way of achieving the project and then evaluate based on personal research. Unlike other contractors, United came onsite and got on the ladder and inspected the roof, this lets me know I’m getting an accurate quote and not a guess based on the sq/ft. They also made a suggestion to solve my roof ventilation issues. When it came time to do the job, the communication was great, texts ahead of time to let you know when the materials were arriving. The team showed up and did a great job. It was very efficient covering the side of the house while they stripped the roof to prevent damage to the house. Now that it’s completed it all looks great. The team put everything back the way it was before they started. I thought I got everything out of the way they needed but they took care of the stuff I missed and put it back when they were done. We slo requested a certain day, which was accommodated.
