Sorry this pro can’t do your job, but we know other pros who can.
Introduction: We pay attention to details, it makes all the difference from just a good job to being a great job, constantly keeping up with the latest means and materials innovations provides the customer with a superior result. Creative and clever ideas are often needed to repair or build something the right way, too often we see that a customer will have someone fix something, it looks great, the people get there check and then the problem comes back again because the time wasn't taken to figure out the "why" - that just creates the same problem again. When you think about it we really are not in the repair, remodeling, handyman, new construction business: we are in the problem solving business, sure, great work knowledge and craftsmanship are all vital, but when you think about your craft this way the end result will always be superior.

I can’t say enough about Jeff and his team. They are knowledgable, professional, and do high quality work. We have an antique home (built in 1769) and from the moment Jeff came to survey the project he understood and appreciated the quirks and challenges of an old home. You can tell they have seen it all before and nothing fazes them. Less experienced guys would have run screaming from our project. Jeff and his team are problem solvers and can figure out a way to tackle almost anything. Our project started out modestly — enlarge a window in the kitchen. We knew there were problems with the sill that the window wall was sitting on, some of the sheathing around the window, and the old posts holding up the back wall, but figured those could be worked around. Jeff’s recommendation was that we take out a larger section of the wall and rebuild it the right way. After some initial hemming and hawing by me because this increased the scope of the work, we went with his recommendation and it was clearly the right thing to do. Building on top of the old, decayed structure would have caused more trouble in the long run. Jeff and Bob got everything right from the ground up — literally. They chiseled out uneven parts of the top of the fieldstone foundation so the new sill would have an even surface to sit on. They filled in all the gaps between the stones with mortar. The rebuilt the sill using pressure-treated lumber. They went above and beyond by waterproofing the ends of the basement joists. They even noticed that because of some sagging of the house that the window opening was not going to be as big as the window we ordered, which allowed us to change the order just in time. The kitchen wall is now structurally sound and has made it easier for the plumber and electrician to do their work because of the new framing. They also filled in another window we were eliminating, installed a new door (which was removed from another location in the house) and framed some mechanicals in a chase, all done incredibly well and professionally. Jeff and Bob were also nice enough to offer advice on a few things I was thinking of tackling myself. Just so this doesn’t come across as phony or too good to be true, I’ll list just one downside (if that’s even the right word, it’s not really a downside because the work was done right the first time): While it was a team of two, I didn’t always feel like I was getting two man-days of work. Sometimes it felt like one would be observing or supervising while the other was doing the work. Other teams I’ve worked with, both guys are tackling different aspects of the project simultaneously, so it feels like it goes a little faster. But sometimes those other guys have had to spend time fixing work that they did too quickly or sloppily, which ended up costing more. None of Jeff’s work will need to be redone, they get it right the first time. They ponder all angles of the project before jumping in, so by the time they’re done you know it’s done right. I’m sure they would do an amazing job with a newer house as well, but if you have an older home you need to hire Jeff and his team.

Details: Yes, the structure has already been built • Wall to an existing room • Already have plans - just need installation • No, I do not need plumbing or electrical lines installed • No, I do not need drywall applied • Home

We hired Jeff to help us rebuild our front stairs. The original builders had neither used pressure treated wood, nor painted the wood with anything more than primer, and so there was a good deal of deterioration. Jeff suggested we reinstall the risers with composite, so we don’t run into this problem in the future. The work was done on time and budget, Jeff did a good job of keeping in touch with us between the estimate and the work, and we’re pleased with the results. We’d hire Jeff again.

Details: I'm just starting • Kitchen • Complete renovation • Replace parts of existing structure • Less than 500 sq ft • Home • I am the owner

I was very lucky to have Jeff and Associates to do decks carpentry repairs in our condominium. Jeff is responsive and can negotiate to meet client's needs. Maybe, some parts of the repairs in a quote seemed overestimated, some underestimated, but in the end, everything turned out well. His associates Joe and Andrew are great carpenters, do their job properly and are nice people.

Details: Deck, porch, or balcony • Baseboards and/or crown molding • Replacement of portions of existing structure • Residential
