Lathan was wonderful to work with! He reframed a door for me on the inside and out. The house is 100 years old with detailed molding. He went above and beyond to find matching molding for the door. It came out perfect!! I also bought a porch swing only to find out there was no beam in my porch ceiling to hang it from. Lathan did a fabulous job removing a tongue and groove ceiling to install a beam and replace the ceiling after. He was fantastic about answering questions, scheduling, and overall a great and personable guy who I feel lucky to have met to help with the million and one things needed around the house. Lathan did an amazing job! He installed 2 storm doors in our house, built the door frame in our basement and installed basement doors too ( in fact, it was a long and complicated process but he did a great job). He also helped me to choose the right doors and ordered them for me taking his time listening to my concerns what kind of doors I want ( I'm very picky). He knows exactly what he is doing and doing the quality job! Highly recommended!

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
My fee is flat fee for the first hour which is$125, whether I am there for an hour or 5 minutes. After that is goes to $80/hr. Some people don't like the unknown of an hourly rate, so I can work up a flat quote for the labor. It give them piece of mind that the work will cost X. Materials are not included in the hourly price but any materials required for the job, the customer is responsible to pay/compensate for.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I like to meet with the potential client and discuss their needs, determine the actual scope of work and I then send them a proposal for the work to be done. OR if it is straight forward and I can do it right then, we do it, usually by the hour.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
*I have a degree in Construction Management *OSHA 10 along with several CE classes for safety. * I worked under 3 Master Carpenters * School of Hard Knocks has really given me an education!
