About
My name is Nana Nkrahene and I tutor Math online because I love to help students overcome their Math anxiety, excel in their Math classes, and gain confidence in their ability to achieve anything they put their minds to!
So, if you struggle to get your child to do Math homework, or if you feel overwhelmed and perhaps helpless over your child’s challenges with Math, or if you’re concerned about an upcoming Math test, then I believe I am the tutor for you.
I have a BA in Mathematics & Economics from Mount Holyoke College, where I graduated Magna Cum Laude. But more importantly, I share a passion and enthusiasm for quality Math education. And that’s what I’d like to share with your child.
You see, I know how important having a good Math teacher is. I remember one of my favorite Math teachers, my fourth grade Math teacher, Ms. Campbell. Math with her was a delight. It changed everything. She taught me well. She made me believe in myself and in my ability to excel in Math. She encouraged me. She supported me. And that, I believe, has shaped my view of Math today.
Research tells us that when it comes to Math education, children are likely to develop math anxiety when their teachers express Math anxiety. Hence, selecting a tutor who not only knows the material, but also maintains a positive and uplifting attitude is crucial, so that the same positivity is passed on to your child.
I am that tutor.
As a tutor for your child, I will encourage and challenge your child, but I will not overwhelm your child. I will do my best to make sure your child understands the material and can confidently tackle difficult problems.
If this resonates with you, then I look forward to working with you!
Specialty Areas Include: K-9 Math (including Algebra 1) | AMC 8 | SAT Math.

Nana is an excellent tutor and very knowledgeable of how she breaks down a Math problem into an easy way for you to understand. My kids love her so much and always looking forward to seeing her. Clearly Nana has a passion for Math and enjoys teaching it. She knows how to keep kids engaged and focused throughout the session. It's my first time trying to use online tutors and so far Nana has made it a smooth experience and very fun for the kids to want to sit and enjoy solving Math problems. I highly recommend her for anyone looking for a Mathtutor

My daughter needed a tutor that she felt comfortable talking to and working with. Nana went above and beyond making sure that my daughter enjoyed the time spent during the tutoring session and that she was truly learning. Within the first week of sessions with Nana, my daughter said “mom I wish ALL teachers would be like her, I actually understand my math problems”. Nana was great taking her time and ensuring that there was an understanding of not only how to do the problems but also how to check her answers. I would recommend Nana time and time again to anyone whose child is struggling. She definitely goes above and beyond!

From first hand experience, Nana is an amazing math teacher. I have struggled with comprehending math since 2nd grade and with her help I have improved. Nana is patient, understanding, and well versed in her subject. She takes you step by step through the subject and makes sure you are solid with the module you’re studying before moving on. I recommend her greatly, you will not be disappointed.

FAQs
What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Free initial call. For ongoing tutoring: First class (1hr) with review & discussion of assessment results is $40. If you decide I am a good fit, then you can sign up for tutoring. Payments are prepaid monthly. Packages include: $200/month for two 30-min sessions a week, $255/month for two 45-min sessions a week, $335/month for two 1-hr sessions a week. Feel free to reach out if a different package may work better for you, and we can discuss. Per session rate: $45/hr
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I will set up a free initial call where we can discuss your Math needs, topics your child struggles with, and how I can best serve you. If you decide to continue with my services, your child will complete a full assessment on their own and we will meet for an initial class to go over some of the questions from the assessment, and your child’s results. That initial class fee is $30. It will cover the cost of the assessment and the class. Even if you decide not to move forward with me, you will have access to that comprehensive assessment. If you do decide to move forward with me, I will draw up an individualized plan based on the assessment and grade level expectations. We can make adjustments to this plan as we go.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I graduated Magna Cum Laude from Mount Holyoke College. I double majored in Mathematics and Economics. After Mount Holyoke, I worked as an analyst at an Economic Consulting firm to continue to hone my (Math-related) reasoning and problem solving skills. I tutored both Math and Economics at Mount Holyoke. I have extensive tutoring experience, having tutored individuals and groups of students from all over the world.
