In addition I attended the reknown Finishing School in New York to study the Trompe L'oeil practice ( translates to " Fool the eye " ) - which involves painting sufaces to look like actual wood , marble , and other materials, as well as mural realism .
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
It's funny, I attended college for four years, but the class I had on ONE day decided what I was going to pursue. A visiting preservationist demonstrated how to make realistic Mahogany effect using layers of paint and specialized tools. The transformation is so accurate, many can't tell it is not actual wood. I was hooked.
