What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Listening to clients need first. I measure the room required, take pictures of it, draw the floor plan of it per scale and 3 dimantional drawings to show the design ideas, select all furnishings needed for the room, do a design presentation at client s home. Upon that I work on estimating the execution of the job and start executing after that.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
You know? traveling is a key to stay updated! you will get in touch with the outside world, you experience not only new forms and styles in different country but a whole culture. You will have the opprotunity by touching, seeing, smelling and hearing....I travel at least once per year to stay updated.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your service? If so, please share the details here.
Average design charge per room is $ 1450. That includes designing the room, drawing the design ideas per scale, selecting the furnishings for the room like accessories, lighting, flooring, tops, hardware, furnitures , rugs......
How did you get started doing this type of work?
Hmm!! I started free hand drawing since I was 7 years old. My sense of art developed even more by time, my mom is a painter, my dad is a furniture merchant, so it is in my genes!
What types of customers have you worked with?
The most commom jobs that I do for my clients is full remodel. But I do take just design/ decorating as well.
Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?
Ohh! I am super proud of a job that I did in Brookline last month.
The project was desinging a bedroom for a 10 years old girl, it was the best!, came out gorgeous, she loves it !
I did not hire my photographer yet to take picture of it cause I am doing more work in the same house, so waiting to finish at least 2 or 3 rooms before doing that.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
Hmmm!! ..be careful. Ask for references, call these references. I have met people that consider themselves designers and they are actually just decorators or they are just not designers at all.
What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?
I wish customers will know that design is my passion so if I am designing their room is like I am designing my own!..I give it 100% of my attention and would love that they will have a comfortable and stylish and functional space at the same time.
I also wish the customer will know that I have been doing interior design since 1993 therefore I have tons of experience, so they can rest assure that they are in good expert hands :)
