Introduction: There are many "wedding photographers" but what makes me unique is my ability anticipate moments and reactions, so I am in the right place to capture them all. I have been told by many of my clients that I am everywhere at once, and when you see your photos for the first time, you will be amazed that I was able to get some of those shots. Perhaps moments you didn't even know happened - making the images from your wedding day all the more important. Additionally, I have often been complimented on my relaxed style and ability to blend well with the crowd, while still capturing beautiful imagery. It's important that people feel comfortable and relaxed around me, as I strongly believe that is reflected in the photographs. I love being creative and having the ability to tell stories through beautiful creative imagery.

My husband and I had the pleasure of working with Cynthia for our engagement pictures and our wedding day. Cynthia exceeded our expectations each time. Her wonderful, outgoing personality made us immediately feel at ease. We both were a little uncomfortable and unsure during our engagement shoot and she immediately set us at ease. She had us laughing, being silly, and flirty and captured all of these moments amazingly. We were so pleased with our engagement photos that we immediately booked her to do our wedding in July 2011. Prior to our wedding Cynthia was in contact with us answering all our questions and meeting all our special picture requests. Cynthia captured every special moment of our day for each of us getting ready, the ceremony, and the reception. Everyone raved at the quality of our pictures and how pleasant she was throughout the process. Not only did our pictures come out amazing but the price was the best around. We were able to get a dvd of every picture she took and had the rights to print them however we choose as well as having an online gallery. I would recommend Cynthia to anyone getting married or preparing for engagement pictures. She is a pleasure to work with, takes beautiful pictures, and all at a VERY reasonable price!

We are truly blessed to have Cynthia photograph our wedding. She is an extremely talented photographer and has a knack for capturing the most important moments on your special day - even on the dance floor! She seemed to always go the extra mile and stayed to the bitter end so we have pictures of the whole day. She was so easy to work with and we had several comments from our guests about how she always “appeared” at the right time to get a great shot! The night before our wedding when I met with Cynthia to iron out some last minute details (as I was a little frazzled), she had a very calm and cool way about her which put me at ease knowing that I didn’t have to worry about anything at all. Our wedding was in Nantucket, MA where she had visited a number of times with her family, so she was familiar with the island and some “local” spots that made our wedding stand out. In addition to being a talented photographer and an amazing and kind person, she is very respectful of your wedding budget. She is a photographer where you can get the most professional photographs with a fraction of the price compared to many competitors. I highly recommend Cynthia to anyone.

I would just like to say how wonderful a person Cynthia is in addition to being an amazing photographer! At our wedding, the group picture process went so smoothly because of her experience and calm nature. She also captured many extra shots that we would not have thought of on our own. Cynthia seemed to be everywhere at once, capturing family and friends' smiles, laughs and dance moves from the beginning of the ceremony to the very late night at the reception! Looking back at the photos, she captured the whole story of the day in so many perspectives, and the night/action shots were fantastic! Both being designers ourselves, we were floored by her attention to composition, quality, and color- stunning!! We could not have had a better photographer- truly a special person with amazing talent and we highly recommend her.

My husband and I used Cynthia Abbott for our wedding last September and we couldn’t have been happier with our decision! Right from the start, she was both outgoing and professional. We contacted her through email as we heard about her through a family friend, and she responded to us within 24 hours. We spoke over the phone and she went through every detail with us (from all of her pricing options, to her style, to suggestions specific to our wedding). This was even before we had signed on with her! She wanted to get to know us as best as she could to make sure we would all be a good fit. Right away I knew she was the one for our wedding. Cynthia suggested we meet a few months before the wedding for an engagement photo session (included in the package we bought). She said it was a great way to get to know her and to get used to and be comfortable in front of the camera. It went great! Not only was Cynthia laid back but she had great suggestions on different pictures and had us laughing and having fun at the end (which of course turned out to be the best pictures!) Within a few weeks we had a link to all of the pictures and were able to use one of them in our local paper for our wedding announcement. The day of the wedding itself was perfect and couldn’t have gone more smoothly. To be honest I didn’t realize Cynthia was even there! She was able to get the perfect combination of pictures from before the wedding, to during the ceremony, to the reception. She was so flexible and easy to work with and got along with everyone (our parents loved her!) She ended up taking over 800 pictures which I couldn’t believe. When she sent the link to us after she did all of the editing it was like I was able to relive our perfect day all over again. I would 100% recommend Cynthia as a photographer for your wedding. She not only has a wonderful talent but she is also a great person to know and work with.

I cannot recommend Cynthia Abbott Photography highly enough. Cynthia photographed our wedding last fall, and we chose her because her work was beautiful, natural, and fun. We were not disappointed! Initially we met Cynthia for our engagement session, which was great, because we were able to get comfortable with her before our wedding day, and having our pictures taken (something my husband hates!) She was able to get us to relax, which resulted in much more natural pictures than I have ever had before. On the day of our wedding, Cynthia was so organized and professional. She seemed to have everything covered, and was so calm about last minute adjustments that I knew we were going to capture the wedding just like I wanted. She caught all the big moments of course, but, more than that, was able to catch the little details I didn't even realize were happening, and wouldn't have thought to ask for. The day flew by so fast, I am so thankful that Cynthia was there to capture it all as beautifully as it actually was. She caught moments I missed myself, like my flower girl getting her hair fixed by my mother-in-law, and my father-in-law showing my ring bearer how to hold the ring pillow. I couldn't be more grateful for her wonderful work.

FAQs

  • What types of customers have you worked with?

I photograph weddings, engagement sessions, Bar/Bat Mitzvahs, anniversaries, and other events. I also do lifestyle portraiture of children, families, newborns, and high school seniors. I have a photojournalistic style, so images tell the story of the day. I do primarily on-location work, as I love photographing people outside with natural light. However if you are interested in a studio-like setting, that can be arranged.

  • What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

For your wedding, in addition to finding an experienced professional photographer, who's work you love, you'll also want to have a good connection with your photographer. On your wedding day, you will be spending a lot of time together, so having someone around you and your friends and family, that you are comfortable with, helps put you at ease. I always encourage meeting couples in person, perhaps through an engagement session, to get to know each other a bit and how we work together. You'd be suprised how much that makes a difference when you get a little used to being in front of the camera a bit!

  • What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?

There are a lot of inexperienced photographers who claim to be "professional" but may not be, and those looking may be tempted by low prices. Professional photographers, have invested years in training, experience, and thousands of dollars on equipment and back-up equipment. If you want professional, quality images, it's important to do proper research for the right photographer.
