I had questions about the structural integrity of an older home, and wanted some questions answered before making any remodeling decisions. After hearing widely varied opinions from realtors, handymen and contractors, I decided to pay for the expertise of someone trained specifically to assess the situation. Well worth the price for peace of mind. James was professional, took his time explaining things, diagraming in ways that were easily understandable. After having a home inspection performed, concerns of foundation integrity and settling were raised. Contacted James and he replied promptly and was able to come out to perform a foundation review the same week. James was super friendly, professional, and thorough. Thankfully, based on his professional judgement, immediate concerns about costly repairs were put to rest. He was able to mention some smaller monitoring and repair activities to take over the course of the next couple of years. Great experience hiring James!

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Once we are on the phone, we will discuss your needs and see how we can best support you. Usually a site visit is needed to measure the existing structure and we will go over your vision with more depth and a deposit is accepted. Then we will go back to the office to analyze the existing structure and to design new supports as needed. Once a design is complete, drawings are developed, reviewed, and stamped for your use. Payment in full is required prior to release of design documents. We are available during construction to answer any additional questions from you or your contractor.
How did you get started doing this type of work?
I originally worked in residential construction for a contractor but felt drawn toward the design and management side of construction. I worked for a large consulting firm and then as a project manager for a design-build firm before starting my own business.
What types of customers have you worked with?
We can handle most structural projects but our passion is working with homeowners and contractors.
