Able to fit us in sooner than initially available after we asked to be put on wait list. On time. Friendly technician took time to find all sources of odor and stain. Thorough cleaning. Gave all prices & options up front. Literally got down to business examining and even smelling carpet to isolate the problems. Smelled great afterwards. Be alert, significantly more expensive than other options that don't do full pet enzyme and steam cleaning and vacuuming treatment. Not at all happy , service tech wore his shoes and when I asked him to put in booties he said he was alarmist done and was going to be on his knees I said you need to put them on please. Hello Cheryl, I apologize for your disappointing experience. Our goal is to provide the most outstanding service experience possible. To assure your complete satisfaction it is our practice to send a follow up email requesting feedback and also a follow up phone call. In fact we have called you several times and you have not responded. Your review, posted here, was the first notification we had that there was a potential problem. Although we encourage our technicians to wear booties, they can be slippery. So unless they have to walk over an area in your home that they aren't cleaning, sometimes they avoid wearing them rather than adding to the risk of falling. If you aren't happy with the cleaning, I'm surprised that you didn't respond to any of our follow up calls. I encourage you to reach out to my office staff as soon as possible so that we can make an appointment to come back.

Colonial Chem claims that their unique carpet cleaning process ensures a drying time of less than two hours. Based on this claim, I scheduled an appointment a day before my move-in. The technician who came by was courteous. Upon arrival, he quoted significantly more than the agreed charges with Betty, the appointment coordinator. Had to dig up correspondence with Betty on my phone and he had to call Betty before agreeing to the charges. The cleaning process was no different from any other carpet cleaning service. The carpets did not even remotely dry after 12 hours, let alone dry in 2 hours! Even the next day, there were damp areas the movers had to walk over. The dampness caused stains when walked over. Betty was nice to mail a handwritten Thank You card upon completion of service. Which was mute given the claimed service performance wasn't delivered. The next time, I would rather go with other large carpet cleaning firms which offer services for at least 20% lower costs. I don't want to advocate for any firm. - What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?Our minimum charge is $99. For carpet cleaning we offer simplified room pricing. Rooms up to 150 sq. ft. start at $60 each. For three or more rooms, the cost drops to $50/room up to 150 sq.ft. The cost of a 3 person sofa is $119. Loveseat cost is $85. Chair cost is $60. Ask us about tile cleaning costs and check our website for current online specials.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?Our friendly office staff is available 6 days a week to assist customers with inquiries, answer questions and schedule appointments. We provide an email confirmation with helpful instructions about how to prepare for the service. The day of your appointment, our service technician will call to let you know he's on his way. When he arrives, he'll begin by completing a pre-cleaning inspection of the areas and items to be cleaned. He'll make a note of any concerns and then get right to work. Our complete cleaning process includes a thorough pre-vacuum, spot cleaning and pre-treating of heavily soiled areas, moving of small furniture, cleaning with our patented hot carbonating cleaning system, groom the carpet and post cleaning inspection. A few days after the cleaning you'll receive a follow up phone call to make sure you were pleased with the service.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?As a Chem-Dry franchise owner, our company and technicians are required to participate in ongoing educational programs. All of our technicians are Chem-Dry 5 Star Certified. In addition, my company requires our technicians to be IICRC certified. The IICRC is the leading certifying agency for the carpet cleaning, floor cleaning, upholstery cleaning industry. As a company we also conduct weekly technician training meetings to insure that we are knowledgeable about any cleaning industry trends.
