Hired on Thumbtack

Bill has done a great job upgrading electric system at reasonable price and finished it at relatively quick time frame. He’s a highly skilled professional that I recommend everyone who looks for value and quality at the same time which is rarely found nowadays.

Details: Partial replacement • New installation • Repair • Trips or blows frequently • Entire circuit breaker panel with switches • Basement • House

Billy was great. Showed up in time and was professional. He helped change my Westinghouse generator and helped to test out. Also drained the fuel. Also snowblower helped change oil and get winter ready. Very helpful and not a nickle and some person. Play his experience showed on showing me tips how to start the generator.

Details: Portable • Primary power source

Don't charge for estimates. Also, noticing that a GFI switch was off and along to turn it on doesn't warrant a charge when you are providing estimates for something else. I mentioned this to other electricians who said that I was taken for a ride. I got 3 other estimates from who I selected one and nobody charged me for estimates. Please don't be on thumbtack if you cannot afford it. Also, your estimate was exorbitant. I got way lower estimates for the same work done in the same manner from others and got it done from one.

Details: Upgrade wiring, fixture, or equipment • Outlets • Wiring • Circuit breaker panel or fuse box • Switches • 8 - 10 feet (standard ceiling) • House

Bill Cuqua - Electrician's reply
Hi Kiran Sorry you feel this way. You were not charged for an estimate. You were only charged the fee the the app charged me for your direct lead. I thought it was only fair after I fixed one of the items on your list. We had this discussion and you agreed and paid. I made no money. As for the estimate itself. My estimate included a electrical permit and electrical inspection. Your house was built in the mid 90's, since you were extending your wires over six feet they now have to be brought up to code with the install of arc fault breakers. If these code requirements and a permit was pulled with the town from another contractor then I am glad you found someone in your price range.
