Goals
Sorry this pro can’t do your job, but we know other pros who can.
Introduction: I complete thorough fitness, body composition and postural assessments to ensure that I am working with your strengths and actually targeting your weaknesses. This is incredibly important because without evaluating such things, your trainer may actually be harming you or hindering your ability to reach your goals. Every day there is a small battle to be won and I get to celebrate these small victories with my clients every day. Whether we have reached a weight loss goal, finally found an exercise a teeenage client enjoys or one of my seniors realized they could carry all their groceries in themselves; every day is filled with small victories.

Christine is awesome! I always feel accomplished after her training. I am not one to EVER workout but recently started traveling for work which left me no choice. She has taught me the correct way to exercise, and after a short three weeks, I already feel better - more energy, sleeping better, and more strength. Not only does she provide an excellent training session during our face-to-face workouts, but also sends detailed customized routines (e.g., in-hotel room workouts). Due to my ignorance, I always felt the proper way to workout was to do mostly cardio, but she immediately implemented weight training and while it burns the next day, I can feel the difference! I'm now hooked. Thanks Christine!

Before I met Christine and started working out with her, I suffered from moderate to severe sciatica. I experienced a constant 6 - 8 out of 10 pain dusk till dawn. It was difficult to sleep through a night and at its worst my left foot would go completely numb. I had spent roughly 5 years with an understanding that "I need to strengthen my core," but I had no idea how to do that, why it needed to be done or what to expect in the short term. In January of 2012 I was fed up with living in pain so I went to a Clinic specializing in pain located in Waltham. They performed an MRI and confirmed sciatica as the cause of the pain, specifically my L2-L3 disc bulging and putting pressure on the sciatic nerve. A physical assessment showed that my abs were weaker than my lower back resulting in too much curve in my lumbar and thus the bulging disc. They gave me a prescription for 800mg of IBuprofen, a cortisone shot in the lumbar spine and physical therapy. All well and good until the effects of the cortisone wore off, the IBuprofen caused a minor stomach ulcer and the physical therapist turned out to be strengthening my BACK! I stopped going as the cost was high, the payoff was low and I felt I needed something else. Next I tried a chiropractor. I had full torso and neck X-rays done, and another physical assessment. This professional told me my neck was out of alignment which was causing my shoulders to compensate and in turn my hips resulting in one leg shorter than the other and his conclusion for my pain. Fast forward 6 months and I still had back pain with little or no improvement in my posture. Sound like a familiar run around? My guess is that those suffering from sciatica have a similar story. I started working out with Christine January of 2013. I told her my history as above and asked her to help me get pain free. She focused in on the problem immediately and started me out with lower weight, high repetitions and the special ingredient (Destabilization!). I had never lifted weights and only used machines occasionally. I was always more of a cardio kind of guy and associated lifting with bulky muscles and protein shakes. I had always thought the advice of "strengthen your core" meant I needed to do situps. In a matter of 2 months I had reduced pain. Here I am now, 1+ years later and I am completely pain free! It doesn't suck that I can lift 3 times what I could when I stated either. Another indication that Christine really knows her stuff is her ability to adjust a workout on the fly. Before each workout I tell her what is bothering me such as my shoulder from volleyball, kink in my neck from a bad sleep position or just a headache from dehydration. She is able to adjust my routine so that I still get my full body exercise while avoiding the injury. All of the extra benefits of being fit aside, being able to go through a day without back pain is priceless. Having gone through all the various analyses and treatment plans I can conclusively attribute my recovery to Christine. For that I am truly grateful. Thanks Christine! Sincerely, Daniel Sargent
