Private voice lessons might be just the fit for your child to help focus his/her energy and help build confidence. Each lesson is given in a professional, supportive and creative environment. My approach to voice lessons is a clear awareness of the body in connection to the voice and gaining a strong foundation in musical and vocal technique. Each lesson is fit to the individual student's level and speed. Instructor's background: bachelor's degree in vocal performance from Indiana University and a master's degree in vocal performance from Northwestern University. I have experience in teaching and singing in all styles, including classical, musical theater, jazz and pop and have over 20 years of professional singing experience. I am a board member in the National Association of Teachers of Singing (NATS), Boston Chapter and a member of the National Association for Music Education (NAFME). No availability until Fall 2016. The following are some things that will be covered in lessons: * lesson schedule -- Lessons are given once a week, the same day and time. * course work -- The lessons will cover all or part of the following information, depending on the level of each student: * basic music fundamentals -- reading music, note values and sight reading * technical vocal work -- to improve the vocal quality and health of the student * musicality -- understanding the dynamics and interpretation of the music * artistic development -- understanding how the history of music can benefit the musical and artistic growth of a singer Lesson location: private home studio in Westborough.
