I had an excellent experience with Charlie. He came on time, worked extremely thoroughly and the price was extremely fair. My piano hadn’t been tuned since before the pandemic and will need repeat tuning, but I already hear a huge difference. Absolutely will hire again.

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Estimates within 30 miles of Westport are free. Further than that would be $30. A standard tuning is $150, but if it’s been a few years since it was last done, I may have to pull the instrument up to pitch one or two times before I can fine-tune it. It’s $50 for each time I have to do that. I will advise the customer of any other repairs needed, and give estimate(s) for those
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I find out what the piano owner is looking to do with the instrument, and advise what the minimum work needed, and what other improvements/repairs could enhance their enjoyment of the instrument
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I served a 3 year apprenticeship with an established piano technician; learning tuning, repair, regulation, reconditioning, and rebuilding.
