I was working on a very tight deadline for my theatre company's season brochure and was in need of an illustrator that could understand my needs quickly and efficiently. I was very lucky to have found Joe through Thumbtack! I put out the request/proposal and received a response in less than 24 hours. I gave Joe a brief synopsis of what I was looking for (one of which was an illustration that could portray ACTION!) and was happy to get a sketch very quickly from Joe. He was incredibly decscriptive in telling me about how he imagined the final piece so I could have a full understanding while looking at the sketch. I was lucky that Joe was right-on on his first try and I made no changes to his sketch. The illustration turned out absolutely beautiful and promotes the play as exciting, inviting and fun! AND Joe was 1 week ahead of his deadline!!.. making my job even easier. I would recommend Joe to anybody or any company looking for an efficient, professional and incredibly talented illustrator. Plus, he was a pleasure to work with!

JEB Design does exceptional work! Joe is amazing! The illustrations he has provided for Crossroads of the American Revolution's Meet Your Revolutionary Neighbors Project are outstanding. For this project we provided him with short bios about the "revolutionary neighbors" and from this information he created masterpieces that truly captured the essence of the stories we were trying to tell. His pictures truly are worth a thousand words! We continue to work with Joe as we add more revolutionary neighbors to our website and every time I think I have a new favorite illustration- he surprises me with something even better. I highly recommend Joe and JEB Design for all your artistic needs!

It is rare to find such talented, passionate and hard working people as Joe and Eva at JEB Design. We hired them to design two large original murals for our family business, and the results are better than we could have ever imagined. They took our company's passion for Millwork products and commitment to Baltimore City, and perfectly channeled that into our 18' delivery box truck mural, covering the two large sides and the rear lift gate. Joe incorporated our company's logo as well as one of our supplier's logos, and designed the entire backdrop of the Baltimore City inner harbor including as many famous landmarks as possible. We now receive compliments and business traffic from the truck on a daily basis. The perspective of the design and vivid colors are amazing. The second project was a large faux storefront for our brick-and-mortar retail store, which was designed from scratch by Joe using old photos and details from our 90 year-old company history, and incorporating them all into a very special and personalized mural for customers to see as they enter our business. We could not be more happy with the results, and can't wait until we have the opportunity to work with JEB Design again on our next project!

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Pricing is based on a Project bases. It is very hard to provide an hourly rate for illustration since it is more about effective messaging then the amount of time it took to create.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I am a professional illustrator and logo designer so I work closely with my client via sketches to reach approval of illustration and/or logo. My portfolio is extensive so the client has a clear understanding of how the final work will appear from these sketches. Usually, the final work goes through a stage of refinement. Once we reach final approval, I provide the vector file (.eps) and any other file formats they need. Usually, .jpg and web safe .gif files are needed for a successful marketing campaign.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a BFA in Graphic Design and my vector illustrations have been showcased in three editions of the Adobe Illustrator Bible.
