FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Clients should understand that the pricing process of a photography shoot involves multiple steps before you ever see the final outcome. The hour photo shoot and the photographers time spent with you, is typically the second or third step of the process. First step (once hired) is organizing and knowing which camera and or lens to use for a particular shoot. Keep in mind the time to educate yourself and expense of professional equipment. Classes and research is daily if you want to stay ahead of the photography world trends and styles. Technology education is a constant learning curve for photographers. Youtube is a wonderful resource and typically is great but it’s a quick bite of info. Professional photography demands professional taught classes. And technology is forever changing and evolving and we photographers are always trying to stay caught up. Editing is a skill, and the most time consuming for any photographer. My point is, when you see the price, it is important to understand and to consider that the hour long family shoot that you’ve just had, was the second or third step involved. The real time eating work is the behind the scenes of the editing process.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
It typically starts out with them interested in my services. If we seem to hit it off I like to either meet my customers or at least talk to them over the phone. It is important to me to get a feel of their personality and to communicate with them about what their expectations they have, I encourage sharing tidbits about themselves and to discuss what type of photo shoot they are interested in.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
My education is ongoing. I have my AA degree where my focus was in Photography. I am always taking online photography and in person classes to keep up to date with the latest styles, technology and artistic styles. I like to blend traditional styles with new trends to create a natural artistic balance. I LOVE what I do and I want you to love what I create for you! And fortunately for me I love learning and education is always my go to!
