I’ve been taking drum lessons with Bam for a couple of years now, and I can’t recommend him highly enough. He’s an amazing instructor and coach, and his knowledge of different styles of drumming is incredibly broad. Whatever I’ve been interested in working on, he has been able to help me with it.
One of the things that really sets Bam apart is how much preparation he puts into his lessons. He doesn’t just work from a standard set of exercises. He has developed a tremendous amount of material specifically for me, based on what I’m working on, where I need improvement, and where he thinks I would benefit from being challenged. That level of individual attention and preparation has made a huge difference in my progress.
He is also extremely patient and creative as a teacher. If something isn’t clicking, he’s very good at finding another way to explain or demonstrate it. At the same time, he keeps the lessons challenging, interesting, and enjoyable.
Bam also has an excellent setup for both in-person lessons in his home studio and online lessons. I’ve done both and have found each format to be very effective.
I’ve learned a tremendous amount from Bam over the past couple of years and have become a better drummer as a result. I would highly recommend him to anyone looking for a knowledgeable, patient, creative, and exceptionally well-prepared drum instructor. On top of all of that, he’s just a genuinely nice guy and someone I really enjoy learning from.

I had stopped playing drums for 40 years as life had gotten in the way. BIG mistake!! When returning to re-learn what I had left behind, I was looking for a drum coach to help me get back into the groove. I had found who was a well established drum teacher & began some lessons. He taught everyone the same as if I just started as an 8 year old. I repeatedly mentioned what I was looking to do & he never deviated. Since then I met BAM and began working with him once a week. As we start our session every week, I’m asked what I want to work on, what songs I’d like to play or anything I’m having trouble with. BAM never rushes our sessions and is very accommodating to my requests. Now, after over a year, I’m back playing with others, understanding drum methods and surprisingly reading music charts again! I highly recommend BAM as a drum coach either for a new drummer or someone who wants to just get better at drumming!

Bam is one of the best educators I have experienced. He is enthusiastic encouraging that motivated me to learn and improve. He combines a great blend of technology (recordings, video) and in person human connection (lesson time without counting the clock, jam sessions) to maximize the student's learning. A fantastic teacher if you want to learn or improve your drum playing and an overall wonderful person.

Bam is excellent. He will push you to your limits because he truly cares. Once you make clear your goals, he will run with it. If you have experience with other instruments, he will help you adapt it to drumming.

The first trait I picked up from Neal "Bam" Feldman is enthusiasm. "Attitude is everything," is an oft quoted truism, and Bam's enthusiasm comes through his teaching and introducing young drummers into the brotherhood! Bam reads music and has rhythm, so students are getting a full music education that will help them sit in and communicate with other musicians and band members. Bam cares about his students and is a great resource. And he's got lessons. Do your homework!
