5th Gen Group was incredible. Christian quickly replied to my request, set an appointment to come over, was on time, could completely understand what I was looking for. He is different, thinks out of the box, creative and artistic. He leaves room to make adjustments as you go so that the project progresses from nice to spectacular. He enjoys making the project just a little bit different, he is an artist. While he was here I pointed out other items that needed attention and he was open to look at them and work them into this visit. How grateful I am for that. He was interested in re-purposing parts of the job such as installing a door we took down and putting it elsewhere in the house. He installed new windows, broke down walls, re-built walls, installed new pocket doors, replaced tile He helped with suggestions and installing fantastic new gym flooring and hung the mirrors. He and Jess, his partner, make the process easy. His crew with Hector at the helm (he became known to me as "Super Boy" and that says it all) is prompt, polite, clean, professional and very impressive. I am so thrilled that I found 5th Gen Group. I will use no other.

Christian Wells and his team are reliable, communicative, experienced, trustworthy and do great work. I had a large complete deck replacement by them and they customized so many parts of the project, including a custom lattice and cantilever solution. His team is so good that I recommended them to my condo board to perform roof replacement work for my townhouse condo association here in Dupont Circle, as well as recommending him as contractor for a new penthouse rooftop deck for another neighbor. Christian was awarded both contracts because everyone in my community saw how dedicated his team is and how good the work product is. I intend to use 5thGen Group for interior work, as well (we had a former lead contractor who was originally hired to transform both the interior and the deck, but proved unreliable and bailed on the deck job, so I used Thumbtack to find Christian/5thGen Group and I am so happy that I did!). Update 5/24/2018: Our original contractor dropped off of the Facebook of the Earth, leaving us with mostly finished renovation and the new deck I started. I found 5thGen on Thumbtack and Christian was the most responsive and knowledgeable of the respondents to my search for fencing contractors. His team built me a gorgeous fenced-in urban oasis and the double lattice was his idea and custome made for our space. I’m attaching photos. He and his team then proceeded to repair our previous contractor’s errors (like installing new kitchen cabinets upside-down... really!) and did amaze my custome drywall work and mounding work. They even moved our challenger and you would never know the base had been relocated looking at the ceiling. Great great job, reliable and responsive on multiple projects for us since. Our relationship with 5thGen started at the end of 2015 and continues to date.

The 5th Genration Group recently did a minor renovation on our condo; the quality of the drywall and finishing work was excellent. The staff was neat and professional. The group also did an outstanding ceramic tile installation on an existing fireplace. We will definitely work with them in the future.

Christian and his team did a great job on the replacement of bricks and iron railing along steps leading one story up to front door of our townhouse. Original railing was 30 years old, totally rusted, and disconnected from the steps, which made it a serious liability. The team found bricks that matched the shape of the current ones, constructed the railing so it was identical to the original design (required by the HOA) and painted it with three layers of primer/paint to fend off future rust. Project included sanding and repainting an iron gate as well. I am totally pleased with the finished product and will be soon using the 5th Gen Group for another brick project.

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
No, I will either give you a contract or hourly rate. I will discuss which one will save you money but in the end, it is your choice.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Of course! If a professional in the construction field does not, something is wrong. I not only hold licenses as a home inspector, a certified solar installer, and an EPA Lead certified renovator but I keep up with the newest materials and building techniques. I am particularly interested in green building techniques and strive to perform LEED credits on homes whenever possible.
How did you get started doing this type of work?
Ever since my discovery of legos at a very young age is where my passion for building and creating started.
