I've been working out and trying to lose weight for over 10 years, I was honestly feeling pretty hopeless when I started with Amanda. She helped me change my mindset when it came to exercise and I stopped treating it as a punishment. She looks at the long term, she is definitely not a "quick fix" coach who will get you results in a month, but make it so unsustainable you gain it all back (been there...) First off, she definitely personalizes her programs. I was nervous going with an online coach because of all the horror stories I've heard with cookie cutter programs and scammers. Amanda is the opposite. She puts so much effort into her clients! She always responds to my messages quickly, I was out to dinner once and had a question about what to order and she got back to me in time! I love that she teaches instead of tells. I have learned so much about nutrition from her. She has new workout plans every few weeks to keep things interesting and with her nutrition plan it allows me to pick what to eat. I've been to dietitians before and they tell me exactly what to eat, which is why I give up- I get bored and want MY foods. Amanda's plan is the least restrictive I've been on, I've seen the most progress and I'm the happiest!May 18, 2019
Amanda changed my life! I tried plan after plan, but what I needed was a mindset shift. Amanda gives the tools to change your relationship with food, thoughts about exercise and body image as well as the nutrition aspect (she still let me eat chocolate every day!) and workouts. This was the first time in my life that my body actually responded to a program. She is always quick to respond and very helpful, willing to spend extra time on topics when needed. - What is your typical process for working with a new customer?Prospect clients will get a free consultation (video) call to make sure that we are a good fit before working together. If we are, new clients fill out an intake form so I can get to know them even better. I will send personalized workout (video tutorials included) and nutrition plans, as well as nutrition tips and mindset tools. New workout plans will be sent every few weeks and nutrition will be adjusted as needed based on progress. Tips and tools will be sent weekly. Clients have daily access to me through a voice/messenger app for any questions, advice or motivation needed. Each week the client will check in through email to see how things are progressing.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?I have an American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM) personal training certification. National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM) fitness nutrition certification, corrective exercise certification and youth exercise certification.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?In 2011 I was in treatment for anorexia nervosa. After treatment I began weight lifting, which quickly became a passion of mine. I fell in love with getting stronger instead of skinnier and wanted to empower other women to feel this strength and confidence. After I got my fitness nutrition specialization I really saw my body change and improved my relationship with food to finally experience food freedom. It's so important to mend your relationship with food, exercise and your body image to make a real change in your body and find true happiness. That's why I cover mindset along with fitness and nutrition.
