Charlie Eckloff is a master tiler, and his wife Darlene is a delight to work with. They were very flexible regarding scheduling, meeting our needs for speed and working some weekends. His work is meticulous and both bathrooms look great.

The Eckloff's are very nice people and were a pleasure to work with. Unfortunately, they were an hour and a half late the day of installation and I was not happy with the over all job. I had a stone backsplash put in my laundry room. There are noticeable gaps between the stone which are supposed to be flush. The Eckloff's did come back to put on my light covers and fix the area that I asked about, but this time they were 40 minutes late and even though he "fixed" the area there are still gaps around it. I would say it was an average job over all.

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
We always try to be fair in our pricing process. I don't do any markups and always pass on our contractors pricing to customer when it applies.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
We do only ceramic tile, natural stone and glass tiles. We have done this type of work for almost 40 years. I am not a jack of all trades, but rather specialize in tiling. If it is something I have never installed I will not hesitate to contact manufacturer to get instructions on how to install.
How did you get started doing this type of work?
I started as a helper to a master tile setter in the early 1970's . from there we started our own business working with builders and designers in the Potomac area and Washington DC. This has been my only profession, I like to think of myself as a master mechanic in my field.
