Jim Liggett is one of the finest motivational speakers I have seen in my 30-year management career. One of his best talks is called "The Secret to Business Success" where he enters the room carrying a box with the word "Secret" labled on it. He proceeds to talk about how building trust through employee relations is the key to meeting and exceeding business goals. But it's at the end when he removes the contents of the box that the audience gets a message that they will never forget. Go see him if you ever get the chance. I have a Master of Arts in Organizational Management and taught at Johns Hopkins in the Carey Business School for seven years. I am always in continuous improvement mode, as is every business owner.
How did you get started doing this type of work?
People development, process improvement and performance management is what I have been doing for a Fortune 50 International company for 30 years. I would like to bring that experience to the small and mid-size business owner.
