FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Generally speaking, I charge $5.25+ per square foot when installing flooring. That includes labor and waste removal. It can vary depending on the layout and a number of other factors. Backsplash installs typically run anywhere from $675-775 depending on square feet, tiles/design, and various other factors. I prefer to speak with clients to discuss their needs and provide a quote that is fair.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
If it's a large remodel, I prefer to sit down and discuss the clients needs and see the space they are looking to remodel. That allows me to get a feel for the client's preferences and also allows me to provide a fair and accurate estimate for the work that will be required. If it’s a backsplash install or smaller tile job all I need to see are pictures of the space and the tile. That will give me a good idea of the amount of tile needed and if I have to do demo. I will then be able to provide an invoice with a quote and a list of materials that will be needed. My quotes include only the labor. The customer is responsible for purchase of materials needed to complete the job.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I learned through apprenticeships. I have been doing tile work for the past 16 years and through time have become an expert.
