I am preparing for my 40th birthday party/housewarming and I felt overwhelmed 3 days out to organize my laundry room, office and guest bedroom on my own. I am an event organizer for work and this past weekend I produced our family reunion so I’ve had no time for myself.
Completely exhausted, I accepted I can’t do this on my own, and for the first time I considered hiring an organizer. Mimi was amazing! She immediately responded to my late evening inquiry and scheduled to arrive first thing in the morning.
She is sooo pleasant, and I was amazed at her passion and skill for organizing. Immediately I felt so relieved. She went through storage in my home office, laundry room and guest bedroom. I had no idea I had so many things! She was very patient with me sorting through items and throwing things away.
The clear space she opened in my home makes me very calm immediately. She went above and beyond, continually asking if there was more she could do. I am so grateful! When things seemed overwhelming and I didn’t seem able to finish a project, Mimi came to the rescue! What would have taken me 4 days to cull through and organize, Mimi accomplished in hours! She has a gentle, patient manner, that isn’t condescending or judgmental, which I needed as I allowed someone to come look at all of my “stuff”. What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Each job is completely different and is why I offer a discounted consultation ($50). I want the client to get to know me a bit and make sure I’m a good fit for their job. I can also suggest ways for you to declutter/organize/rearrange at a discounted rate and leave the implementation to you.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
We start with a phone call, then an in-home consultation, which is beneficial for both my clients and me. It gives us a chance to talk about the project before we work together, but it also allows me to evaluate your project and get a feel for everything you're trying to achieve and do in your space (both short term and long term). This way I can set you up with a system that will serve you for years to come.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
My Bachelor’s degree is in Human Services, which has helped me understand the psychology behind what we buy and why we hang on the certain things. It’s also been beneficial to creating ways to let go of things that no longer serve a purpose and that allows us to free up our time for the things that are important in this point of our lives.
My family’s many moves forced me to choose the important (and frivolous!) things that came with us. Each different home’s configuration made me find new uses for the same piece of furniture...what would work in one house inevitably did not work in the next! So, I became skilled at reinventing and reimagining new uses for old pieces!
I will take these skills and pass them on to you to help you achieve a space that works for where you are in life.
