This was a great experience. I had previously requested a quote months ago but then was not quite ready to move forward due to extremely busy summer. When I looked for the information i was not able to find it. I guess Thumbtack times out messages after a certain amount of time. Holmes Contracting was one of the ones i contacted and the owner recognized the request. We were able to arrange for him to come out the next day. He started when he said he would and finished quickly and did a great job of leveling the slope again. His price was also better than the 2 other competitors who gave me a quote. I would highly reccomend and would use for future projects.

Maurice was extremely helpful and responsive as we needed our yard graded to prepare for a swing set to be built on our sloped lawn. The leveling was not level. It was improperly done. I had to pay another contractor to come out and do the same job so I had to spend extra money. I kept receiving the wrong measurement from Maurice who owns this company and when I voiced my concern he always had an excuse about why it was the way it was. He did not level it, and when the new contractor came out. They had to level everything properly so I wasted money with this company and had to go with a new company and then he told me he would use a machine that he did not use. They did everything manually I had to get out there and help them a few times to show them how to properly level he had this laser stick that did not properly work because one part of my ground was up. The other part was down. I can voice that concern to him as Well, and then they use my tool. They did not use the tool that he was supposed to have brought, but they used all of my tools and when I voiced all of my concerns, I just kept getting a bunch of excuse so I would not recommend this company.

We’re sorry to hear that you’re dissatisfied, as our goal is always to provide quality work and excellent service.
All of the work agreed-upon was completed properly and to standard. In fact we went above and beyond by completing additional work at no extra charge as a courtesy.
To complete the project properly heavy equipment was originally needed. However, you complained about cost and did not want to spend additional money to remove the fence to allow us access to get in the backyard. Because of this decision we were limited to manual labor, which took significantly more time and effort.
The scope of work was changed several times and the materials that you ordered per our text messages were for pavers that you chose not to install. Measurements and materials for the pool area was never given as that was not a part of our original scope. The issue really arose when we declined to do the additional work you’d requested because your request from the crew were becoming more unreasonable, i.e. you wanted them to pick up 100% of the rocks out the dirt.
I have attached a video showing that the ground was leveled using a laser leveler. We also have pictures showing not only did we level the area, we provided compaction services, and set up the pool pad at no additional cost.
We take Pride in our work and integrity, and we stand by the quality of the services we provided.
