- What types of customers have you worked with?
I commonly work with couples that don't belong to any church, or who are getting married in a location that isn't traditional. I'm not limited to these couples, but they seem to be the ones that seek me out. A Priest or Minister that's affiliated with a Church, sometimes won't perform a ceremony outside of that church, which facilitates the need to hire someone like me. I also find that my couples are usually looking for something more personal, or non-traditional in the actual wording of the ceremony.
- What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?
There is a lot of behind the scenes work that goes on. I've had couple ask me to do a ceremony, expecting it to cost $100 or less, and they seem baffled by why it's so expensive. What they need to understand is that I spend 10-20 hours on every ceremony I do. Not to mention the overhead costs of running a business, that a church wouldn't have to deal with. I like to think my prices are fair and reasonable, and I go above and behind what my contract states on many occasions, but it is still a business.
