Sorry this pro can’t do your job, but we know other pros who can.
Introduction: I am unique in that I have professional admissions experience in both undergraduate and graduate (law) admissions. This experience allows me to give students "big picture" advice in a way that others cannot. Additionally, I am extremely familiar with all secondary schools in the Maryland, DC, and Virginia region. I am both a native of Columbia, Maryland, and also a former regional representative for the area while working at two different institutions. My background allows me to offer personalized advice for students in this region, and valuable insights on how admissions committees review applications from these high schools. Finally, I am a completely independent college counselor, with no affiliations to corporate counseling organizations, so I am able to offer clients unbiased advice at a better price point than most of my competitors.

FAQs

  • How did you get started doing this type of work?

I recently changed careers and now work in Alumni Relations, which I have really enjoyed, but sincerely miss working with students in the college application process. I find that I spend a lot of my free time helping friends and family members in writing essays, interview skills and general admissions strategy advice. I felt starting a business offering these services was the obvious next step!

  • What types of customers have you worked with?

Resume and cover letter review are two of the most common ways I've helped clients. Mock interviews are also very popular.

  • What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?

No matter what school you attend, you can be successful. No school will guarantee future success. so focus less on name brand recognition and more on what schools are the right fit for you - academically, personally, and financially.
