FAQs

  • What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

My standard fees for Custom Medical Massage Therapy sessions are $80/60 min and $120/90 min. I also charge only $80 for the required initial 75 min New Client Assessment and Treatment Session (see Typical Process, below). In addition, I am currently offering an Introductory Medical Massage 3x Treatment Plan for $149 (15% discount), including a New Client Assessment and Treatment (75 min) and 2 x Custom Focused 30 min Treatments sessions (regularly $45@).

  • What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

Initially, I ask a new client to complete forms on medical history (including current chiropractic and/or physical therapy, if any) and on lifestyle basics relevant to safe and effective massage therapy, as well as an assessment of current pain and/or mobility issues to be treated. We then schedule an Initial Assessment Session (75 min), including 15 min for reviewing intake forms together and 60 min treatment, essentially a hands-on whole body assessment combining Swedish, Deep Tissue, myofascial release, stretching and other techniques, as indicated. In this way I identify and begin to relieve muscle tension, congestion, trigger points or “knots” in all major body areas, including shoulders, arms, hands, back, hips, legs, feet, neck and, as needed, scalp, face or other special focus areas. From this assessment process, we develop a treatment plan including one or more additional focused therapy sessions, coordinated with chiropractic or physical therapy, as indicated.

  • What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

    * Certified Medical Massage Practitioner * Licensed Massage Therapist MD * Current CPR Cert (Healthcare Provider) * American Massage Therapy Association Professional Member & Liability Ins   * Potomac Massage Training Institute Graduate in Therapeutic Massage * Ph.D., Molecular Biology, University of California, Berkeley    * Prior career in biomedical sciences - university teaching and legal counseling  * Asian martial arts physical and mental training (Karate and Tae Kwon Do) –    Lifelong journey toward self-awareness of the unitary mind-body
