I appreciated how quickly Karen responded to my inquiry. Also she was available upon request. Her notary rates were very reasonable. She was very professional and did a great job. Thank you Karen for coming to my residence to notarize my document. Ann Martin

Ms. Hammann came through when we needed an emergency Power of Attorney signed and Notarized for a Dementia Patient. She showed extreme patience and professionalism when we had trouble getting the patient to focus enough to sign the documents.
Karen Hammann, CAE, Notary's reply
It's important to me to make someone comfortable when I notarize a sensitive document. It was worth the time to let her get centered and to gently redirect when she got distracted so that we could complete the boring paperwork!

FAQs

  • What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

I charge $5 for the first document signature and $1 for each signature thereafter (e.g., a document with 3 initialed sections and a final signature- 4 total- would be $8), plus current IRS rate for mileage (2026 rate is $0.70/mile) for any travel beyond 10 miles.

  • What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

I have been certified as a Notary Public in the state of MD since 1997, with my commission renewing every 4 years after a retraining course. In early 2026, I will also become commissioned as a Remote Notary, allowing notarization of electronic records in addition to in-person services.
