Great service. I needed to replant two young trees from my front yard to my back yard. Lisa reached out to me right away and David came out next day and gave me an estimate. His men came and got the job done a few days later. Timing and professionalism was great. The trees are looking fine. Hopefully they will be ok in the long run. They also planted ajuga ground cover for me in my backyard. So far they are doing well.

I am very satisfied with the repair work that was done on my patio pavers, the downspout burial/extensions, the laying of sod along the right side of my driveway and front street curb as well as the removal of a large 15 foot arborvitae tree and its replacement with a 4 foot tall dragon lady holly tree. What initially sold me on using Pro Landscape was the professionalism displayed by David the owner and his companies proposals to include cost edstimates which were much more detailed and easily understood than other contractors I met with. Further, when speaking with other members of his staff they were professional and friendly each time I interacted with them. I will definitely use ProLandscape again when the need arises.

Rough doesn't even begin to describe the condition of my backyard. That is probably too kind a word. With the awful winter of snow and ice and the addition of a puppy who, to my dismay, loves to dig, I was left with a mud pit. Here’s the thing: I don’t live in a big house with lots of land. I live in a small townhouse with an even smaller backyard. I began searching for landscapers who would help me bring my backyard back to life. I contacted at least five landscaping companies, probably more; I lost count. No one would take on my project because it wasn’t “big enough,” which meant it wasn’t worth their while since it wouldn’t generate much revenue for them. On Friday, March 14th, I emailed Pro Landscapes with the subject line "Need Help." I briefly explained how much of an eyesore my backyard was. Within half an hour, I received a reply from Lisa Bohr, an administrator at Pro Landscapes. She indicated that they would be happy to provide a free estimate and requested that I send pictures, which I did. On Saturday morning March 15th, David Nutter, president of Pro Landscapes, called me and spoke at great length about what his team could do to revive my backyard. By Sunday evening, I had a proposal in hand featuring a meticulous, step-by-step outline of everything his team would do and how they would do it. He also included the types of perennials his team would be planting and provided links to view the plants he was discussing. I only requested two changes—I wasn’t a fan of one of the plants, and I asked if they could place a stepping stone as a bridge between the patio and the grassy part of the yard. He agreed to both and didn’t charge me for the stepping stone. The proposal was very detailed, and no deposit was required at that time. I just needed to sign and date the proposal and return it to David to have my project placed on the schedule. Before the project began, Miss Utility arrived and spray-painted all publicly joined and shared utilities in my backyard. In the proposal, David included the pictures I had taken and drew lines where the new landscaped beds were to be installed. So, by providing me with a step-by-step proposal including the identified plants and the drawing, I already had an idea of what my backyard was going to look like, and I was beyond excited. Lisa kept me informed about when my project would begin. One week after the accepted proposal, I was notified that my landscaping job would take place on March 27. On the 27th, a team of four men arrived at my house. They worked nonstop, completing the job by 4:00 PM. They were friendly, hardworking, diligent, and knowledgeable. By the end of the day, my backyard was transformed. I can’t even begin to express my delight and satisfaction with an incredibly well-done job. If I could give David and his team more than five stars, I would. Communication was essential to the flawlessly executed upgrade of my small backyard. When I look out at my yard, the wow factor has returned. When no one else would help me, Pro Landscapes did. I will return to use their services again. I should also note that a freeze warning was issued not long after the project was completed. Lisa contacted me and explained how to protect my new plants from any potential freeze damage. Now that is customer service!

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
1. They carry a MHIC license required to do this type of work 2. Their license is in good standing with the license holder, and not expired. Cross reference their license with the DLLR to make sure they’re not just saying they have one. Plenty of people do that. My license # is 5117207 3. They are a fully insured company (most importantly general liability and workers comp. I also carry an umbrella policy for an additional 2 million. Copies of my insurance declarations are included below). 3. Ratings and reviews are in my opinion just as important as licenses. I carry a perfect 5 star rating on Thumbtack.com, Porch.com, and on google reviews if you google “Pro Lawn Care, LLC Maryland” I’m 2 or 3 from the top. 4. Price is one of the last things you should look at. The best price is what so many people only pay attention to these days, but that “best price” will usually come with an inexperienced or non licensed/non insured contractor. A good price is only as good as the things above to back it. Please keep in mind I went to college specifically for this type of work, which very few people in the state do. What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I usually arrange a meeting time convenient with the customer, meet with them to suggest many different options, let them choose what they like best and try to work out a plan that fits their specific needs and budget.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I went to college for Horticulture/Landscape Design & Construction. I currently hold MHIC license # 5117207. I am a knowledgeable Horticulturist, and a professional Landscape Designer. I regularly attend work shops for continuing education in my field, and have a thirst for any new knowledge having to do with landscaping. I know and utilize all the latest techniques taught in this field.
