Russ is the best music teacher I've ever had. He's been a professional bass for decades AND he's a professional gigging bassist. It's a rare privilege to take 1 on 1 lessons from someone as talented as him. I've been taking weekly lessons with him for over 3 years now. I started as a total beginner (I hadn't played an instrument since high school marching band 25 years earlier). Now I'm playing everything from improvised walking basslines to slap bass to the Beatles and Jason Isbell. Whether you're a beginner thinking about picking up the bass or you've played it for years, you should absolutely call him.

I've worked with Russ for almost two years now. Russ is a skilled and professional bass educator. He starts with where you're at as a player and what your goals are. Russ has experience and curriculum for all areas and skill levels. He customizes a learning plan for the student, based on their interests. My playing has improved steadily as Russ' student. He keeps me organized, focused, and helps me over hurdles... like a personal trainer for the bass. Russ knows his theory, and has helped me learn my stuff, but even more important -- Russ has helped me get out my head and feel the GROOVE! One last thing about Russ, which I believe is extremely important: He's never been condescending. He's always encouraging. He's always pushing me just above my ability. What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
My rate for live online Zoom bass lessons is $55.00 per one hour lesson. If students take lessons at my home studio, the rate is $55.00 per one hour lesson. If a student pays for 4 or more, (One Hour Lessons) at a time, the price per One Hour lesson is $50.00/hour.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I want to find out what the student wants to learn and then design a curriculum that will meet and satisfy their goals. My students get better!!
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have been playing bass guitar professionally for 40 years and teaching bass guitar professionally for 35 years. I have a teaching system that has proven itself over and over again with many students going on to having very successful careers in music as well as having many students just having a great time playing music for personal enjoyment and Simi-professional work.
