FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
What You Should Know About Our Pricing We believe in transparent and fair pricing tailored to your unique tax situation. Our fees vary based on the complexity of your return to ensure you’re only paying for the services you need. For most individual clients with a straightforward return—such as W-2 income, standard deduction, mortgage interest, and filing as Married Filing Jointly, Single, or Head of Household—our starting price is $250 for both federal and one state filing. As a special thank you to first-time customers, we offer a 10% discount on your initial tax preparation service. More complex returns, such as those involving self-employment income, investments, rental properties, or multiple states, will have a customized price based on the additional work involved. We’ll always discuss your specific situation upfront and provide a clear estimate before getting started. If you have any questions about pricing or want to see if your return fits the simple category, just reach out—we’re happy to help!
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
When you choose to work with me for your tax preparation, the process is straightforward and designed to make things as easy and stress-free as possible. First, we start with an initial consultation—either in person, over the phone, or virtually—where I get to know your financial situation and understand your goals. This helps me tailor my approach to your unique needs. Next, I’ll provide you with a checklist of documents you’ll need to gather, such as income statements, expenses, and any relevant tax forms. If you have questions along the way, I’m always available to help. Once I have all your information, I carefully review and analyze everything with a close eye for detail, making sure to identify every possible deduction and credit you qualify for. After preparing your tax return, I’ll review it with you to explain the results and answer any questions you may have. If you’re comfortable, I’ll then file your taxes electronically for fast and secure processing. Finally, I’m here to support you after filing—whether you need help with follow-up questions, audits, or planning for next year’s taxes. Throughout the entire process, my goal is to provide you with clear communication, expert advice, and the best possible outcome.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I’m a Certified Public Accountant, or CPA, which means I’ve gone through a lot of education and training to make sure I’m fully qualified to handle your taxes. I started with a college degree focused on accounting and finance, then took extra courses to deepen my knowledge in areas like taxation and business. After that, I passed a tough, comprehensive CPA exam that covers everything from accounting rules to tax laws. But it doesn’t stop there—I also gained hands-on experience working with other professionals to make sure I can apply what I’ve learned in real-world situations. Plus, because tax laws are always changing, I regularly take continuing education courses to stay up to date. That way, you can feel confident that I’m equipped with the latest knowledge to get you the best results possible
