Jon's Drum Lessons For Beginners

Greetings! My name is Jon. I have over 15 years of experience as a professional percussionist. I have performed for US troops stationed abroad, in the countries of Japan, Guam, Singapore, The Marshall Islands, as well as the British-Indian Ocean Territory of Diego Garcia and Hawaii. These obviously do not include numerous performances that have taken place up and down the Eastern seaboard. I am well versed in the styles of funk, rock, classic rock, punk rock, pop, and classic/modern country. My teaching style can be adapted to individual students, and I emphasize the importance of a player's personality being expressed through feeling rather than strict theory. I am willing to start from the "ground up", having experience providing instruction to people with literally zero prior drumming experience. If so desired, I can also provide instruction on finer points, such as tuning, drum selection, and drum-head selection. Lessons are in 60-minute blocks, and my rate depends on where you'd prefer to meet (your house or mine). I look forward to jamming with you!
