I specialize in a documentary approach to portrait, wedding, Corporate photography and enjoy the experience of working with people, making them feel comfortable and delivering work quickly. I use both natural and studio lighting depending on the job and always spend time speaking with clients beforehand to prepare everyone to feel comfortable with the session.
I currently have a studio space in Easton, Maryland which is convenient for headshots and portraits and any product photography and video projects.
With my MFA from NYU in Film in my back pocket, I enjoy producing testimonial video productions and am able to shoot and edit, as a one-woman-band, your corporate pieces. There are some examples in my portfolio.
I enjoy traveling for destination weddings and do house calls at a client's favorite location for children, family, engagement, professional, and senior portraits.
I like to put people at ease that the session will not be like a dentist appointment (sorry to any dentists out there!) but a fun time to give you lasting memories of loved ones as everyone is right now.

Melissa scheduled our meeting in a timely manner and put me at ease as she photographer me in different locations, with different light. She was very professional and personable. What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I run my photo studio in a boutique model where two weeks after the portrait session we will meet together to review the selects in person. This is so I can help guide you to the images you like the best so that those are the ones retouched and ordered as digital images or prints to have framed through my site as well. I've started this approach to really help people chose their best shot and get it retouched and in the hands and on their walls. This puts this "to do" on my list to help you accomplish your goal for a new headshot, an engagement portrait, a family portrait for the holidays.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
We will have an initial 15 call to meet online before the session to work out any details and answer any questions you might have. Then a session is usually an hour. We can do the work at my photo studio in downtown Easton, MD or at a chosen location, or both! Two weeks after the session we meet together again in person to go through the selected images to help you chose your favorites and how you'd like them delivered - either digitally or printed after retouching your selects. I take notes about what you might like cleaned up in the photo so at the final delivery within two weeks after our meeting you will have your perfect portrait.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I earned my BA in journalism-photojournalism from the University of Minnesota and my MFA in film from New York University-Tisch School. I use Adobe Photoshop for retouching and use Adobe Creative Cloud, where I have access to creative tools and organizing programs for my work.
