Sorry this pro can’t do your job, but we know other pros who can.
Introduction: Unlike many dog trainers, I love people. Many great dog trainers are not so great with people. In the end, we are teachers more than dog trainers. My goal is teach you how to train your dog. I love helping dogs and their owners to bond with one another. I never tire of seeing seeing that "light bulb moment" when either the owner or the dog "gets it"! Dogs that do not understand or have the skills to navigate in our homes will likely end up in the shelter....I try hard to reduce that probability by helping their people understand how to communicate with them better through training and play exercises.

I have learned tremendous information about my dogs and how to effectively communicate with them and set expectations with them since working with Angie. She has educated me about diet and training, and I am completely at ease knowing they are in excellent hands when I need boarding. As a matter of fact, they are "Country Clubbing" it at her facility and love being there. I am grateful to have such a knowledgeable and genuinely caring resource to help me be more effective with my dogs so both they and I can have even more enjoyment from our interaction. Thank you Angie, from me and the "Fluffernutters"! Sincerely, Leah

I would Highly recommend Angela. I have a 5 lb. Yorkie that doesn't get along with alot of dogs. After 5 days at Mind Your Pawz she was playing with some of the dogs. Angela kept a close eye on her and now she is alot friendlier. She also is not barking as much. She sent me pictures and kept me updated on her every day. Roxy can't wait to go back.

I reached out to Mind Your Pawz for assistance with a rescue dog with fear based issues. Being a new human to this delicate dog I did not not have the confidence needed to get her past her fears. Angela gave me the tools, training and built the confidence needed within me to take allow my rescue to gain the social confidence she needed to enjoy a more fulfilled life. I have also used the boarding services provided by Mind Your Pawz. I highly recommend this loving and safe environment for your pet. I would not leave my dog anywhere else.

We trust Angie 100% with our 3 year old boxer/beagle mix. She allows us to enjoy our long weekends/vacations without worrying about our boy. We even call it doggie camp because he loves going to her house!! She gives him plenty of attention and exercise and we love that she is watching him in her home! Hemi can be a bit shy and nervous, but with Angie he has the environment to be the loving fun dog that he is. We will definitely use Angie’s services again in the future!!

FAQs

  • What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

I am constantly reading and attending hands on clinics or seminars to continue learning about the latest developments and methods for handling behavior challenges in dogs. The Professional Dog Training Industry is not currently (yet) regulated, but I am working towards my CPDT certification (Certification Council of Professional Dog Trainers), which requires a passing grade on the exam - it is conducted much like a Microsoft Certification, in a testing center (The exam covers Learning Theory, positive and negative reinforcers, animal husbandry including nutrition, canine domestication and body language, class instruction skills, training equipment knowledge and management, business practices and ethics) . The pre-requisite before sitting for exam are 300 hands-on training hours within a 5 year time-frame, as well as a long list of reading resources.
