I was fortunate enough to find this company on thumbtack. They were able to recover my data for a fraction of the cost of some of these other datarecovery specialist. They were responsive, answered all my questions, flexible and professional. I was extremely worried about out loss of very sentimental data that I had stored on hard drive and now I have that data back. Its not a straightforward process and it takes time, skill and expensive equipment to recover data from failing equipment. What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
My prices start at $375 for hard drives and $175 for thumb drives. With hard drives the prices can go higher if parts are needed or if a lot of work is required. I always discuss the price with my customers before starting work on a drive.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have been in the IT business for thirty-two years mostly working on disk array systems. When I decided to start my own data recovery company six years ago I did some intensive training with Scott Moulton and earned my CDRE (Certified Data Recovery Expert) degree. I have since done over 1400 recoveries and the best thing is I love doing it.
How did you get started doing this type of work?
I had been in the IT field for a long time and I was making a clone of my work hard drive when it froze up. I ended up turning the computer off and when I turned it back on nothing happened. I was able to get the data back by hooking the drive to a computer with a different operating system. It was thrilling and I realized that I wanted to start my own data recovery company.
