Vick kept seventeen 8 year old boys engrossed in his positive messaged magic show for 45 minutes. My boys skepticism of another magician, were quickly addressed when Vick introduced himself with a flaming business card. Both groups of children and parents were delighted.Sep 2, 2019Verified
I am very pleased that Vick was our magician of the night - he has been very thorough in preparing the event in order to blend his art to our brand event.Feb 21, 2017VerifiedMagician Illusions by Vick's reply
Thank you Tim, it was an honor and a lot of fun to be a small part of the Georgetown BoConcept relaunch. Sincerely enjoyed coming into the showroom and working with you prior to the event. Great People, Wonderful Company, Outstanding Furnishings. Thank you for allowing Illusions by Vick to be a small part of it!
This is our second time having Vick do entertainment for a Blue & Gold banquet for Cub Scouts. The bottom line is that there's a reason we hired him again. Vick is super professional and obviously knows kids. He is perfect at keeping them engaged and entertained. He showed up early and there was never a feeling that he would disappoint. If anyone needs a magician for any event, I would heartily recommend him!Feb 19, 2017VerifiedMagician Illusions by Vick's reply
Thank you Andrew and thank you for all the work you do with the scouts. It was an honor to return to perform for your Blue & Gold Banquet. It was a pleasure and you were a great audience.
Vick was way beyond our expectations. He absolutely enthralled our group of 10-year old boys. He had a very stylish, professional magician's manner but really connected to the kids. Some of our boys know magic and he wowed them. A definite go to performer of us. Better yet, Vick was a very easy hire: responsive to emails, arrived on time and required nothing from us to set up and break down.Dec 8, 2014VerifiedMagician Illusions by Vick's reply
Thank you David, I had a great time at J.D.'s 10th Bday celebration. It was a lot of fun to perform for and meet everyone. J.D.'s a wonderful person, he is very bright, polite and fun to be around. Again thank you for allowing me to be a small part of his special day.
When I was looking for a magician for my daughter's seventh birthday, I had a choice between a dozen wholesome looking types and this long-haired, crazy-eyed guy shooting fire out of his hands. The choice was easy, really. As it turned out, Vick wasn't crazy at all, he was a consummate professional who had the undivided attention of both the kids and adults. His slight-of-hand was masterful, his commentary was humorous and he didn't botch a single trick. Highly recommended.May 25, 2014VerifiedMagician Illusions by Vick's reply
Hello Marc, Thank you! I had a great time at your daughter's party, it was an honor and a lot of fun for me to be there. I've never seen a more polite audience. Thank you for allowing me to be a small party of her special day. She truly is a wonderful child. I really enjoyed being there.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?Email or call (whatever the client is most comfortable with), asking a few questions, finding out about the guests and event to craft and present a wonderful entertainment experience.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?20+ years intense study, practice and rehearsal. Magic/Theater. My interest in and performing magic started as an adult, not as a child. Always learning, the works of Sam H. Sharpe have been a huge influence as well as the Fitzkie Trilogy, "Our Magic", the works of Tommy Wonder, Robert-Houdin, Henning Nelms "Magic and Showmanship" and Jim Steinmeyer. Incredibly fortunate to be given guidance by an enigmatic figure (an actual card man) whose name I obviously cannot mention and to whom I am extremely grateful. Also the very talented and respected Denny Haney has been kind enough to assist with direction in the art (and putting up with my questions). As part of my continuing education I regularly attend lectures, notable favorites being Joanie Spina, Michael Weber, Richard Osterlind, Banachek, John Carney (twice), Darwin Ortiz, Michael Ammar, Axel Hecklau, Howie Schwartzman, Christopher Bolter, and Christian Painter. Was extremely fortunate to have worked briefly with Joanie Spina as a director. She made a huge, positive impact on my work, enhanced how I create and view the art of magic. She was an amazing talent, director, teacher and humanitarian. Most of the influences on my work and performing come from outside of the world of magic and include film, literature and music. Create something that engages minds, enables viewers to think and feel and you have created art.
