Called on a hot and stormy Sunday re: an unexpected circuit breaker failure; Bryant responded timely, and his service call fee was less than our previous “go to” for electric problems in our old house. He came out, inspected, ordered the part and returned to complete the fix a day later; no chasing, no hard upsell, no issues. He did fail to rub our dog Zoë’s belly, however (her feelings were quite hurt). Would recommend

Beware of Serene Services! Despite their claims of providing efficient and cost-effective electrical services, my recent experience with them was nothing short of a scam. I contacted Serene Services when my microwave stopped working, hoping to get it repaired at a reasonable cost. Bryant from Serene Services came over after inspecting the microwave, he informed me that the issue was with the plug, which he claimed was damaged. He then proceeded to charge me an $150 just to tell me this, with no actual repair or solution provided. Throughout the process, Bryant repeatedly insisted that he was giving me a fair deal and that I was lucky he didn’t charge me more. He even had the audacity to compare himself to large companies and demand payment for his “licensed” services, despite failing to fix the problem. In the end, I was left with the same issue and $150 out of pocket. Serene Services’ deceptive practices and overcharging tactics are unacceptable, and I urge others to avoid falling victim to their scams. Don’t be fooled by their promises of competitive rates and quality service – they’re just out to make a quick buck at your expense.

We're sorry you feel that way about the service that was provided, but here at Serene Services we take pride in our work, Integrity & giving our customers full transparency.Upon your original request it was noted that you had 2 issues that were in need of servicing. One being the Microwave, which after a few tests & a thorough inspection, Our Electrician (Bryant) was able to detect that the "hot prong" on the cable was slightly damaged causing Hazardous trips which could cause house fires. The solution that was provided was to either replace the microwave or change the existing cable for the microwave, but being that the microwave was not working & we do not rehabilitate appliances it wouldn't guarantee that the microwave would be restored. We would not want to waste you or any customer's good time & money on a repair that's not 100% guaranteed unless it's cost effective to the customer. Second issue being the Dishwasher, which upon arrival wasn't getting any Electricity. After an extensive diagnosis it was to Bryant's knowledge that the dishwasher wasn't getting electricity due to a tripped breaker. The breaker was turned back on & the dishwasher was then on and fully operational. Sorry but we do charge a diagnostic fee of $80 to come out to the location, which is noted to all customers before transit. But not to be received upon arrival but upon departure once the customer is satisfied. Which brought your total to $150 for the entire service. Again, we are sorry for any misunderstanding, we are in the business of good integrity, quality of work,& providing solutions. Even if it does not bring major profit, and Never to scam anyone out of their hard earned money.

The pro estimate was 3-4 times higher than other 3 estimates I’ve received from different pros (with much better reviews). When I said, “Okay, I’ll let you know,” he started asking questions about the other offers I received. I told him that I couldn’t disclose that. So he asked me to pay $80 for a service call. Pretty much just for showing up and taking a look. He was talking bad about other pros and trying to convince me anyone offering free estimate is not reliable. When you have three offers from different pros ranging from $150 to $200 and a fourth one offers $520 for the same thing, that tells you that the company is not serious and they like to take advantage of people. That was $80 thrown out the window but it’s okay.

Upon your request it was noted that you needed a new power supply & GFCI Receptacle for a Garbage disposal. Which we gave you a Quote of $520, here is the price breakdown as to why we gave a quote of such amount: (Per Home Depot Tax not included) 25 ft 12/2 (non metallic) Awg wire- $60 20 amp weather resistant GFCI (Due to location being under Kitchen sink)- $27 2-20 Amp single pole tandem breaker (Due to no space left in Electrical Panel)-$24 1 gang electrical box, cover, connectors,metal staple- $15 Bringing a Materials only total = $126 Diagnosis fee (in person) = $80 total Labor cost= $314 Which brought your total to $520. We're sorry but after getting all the materials & successfully completing the Job this project could take 3.5 - 4 hours to complete. To also mention All prices are up for negotiation if need be, this is how we remain competitive.And to keep a potential repeat customer safe we always give warning of Free Estimators & Extremely Low quotes, Due to deceptive sales tactics and/or Poor workmanship. Again we're sorry for any misunderstandings, hopefully this was a bit helpful in creating an understanding of why we gave a quote of $520.
