Introduction: Local, experience and service. Pickup and delivery available too! We've been in business since 1988 in the Baltimore area caring for each of our central Maryland (and beyond) customers. There's no required shipping unless you want to. We want to make your experience as pleasant as possible so you decide how you get your materials to us. Your items are never shipped out across country like some other services. We see so many beautiful pictures of just about anything you can think of, see families grow up and all the changes in the world throughout the course of a day. Truly a unique work day every day. While we have closed our physical retail locations, our services have been streamlined to include: scanning, photo restoration, video to DVD and digital file transfers, and so much more. Our print, decor and photo gift production are still available through our web site.

Dan and his team did a 4'x8' vinyl mural for our son's room. It did not go as expected at first, with the material not adhering properly. Dan reprinted everything free of charge and the mural has held up perfectly in the 5 years since! His prices were reasonable and his staff did a fantastic job working with us to get just the look we wanted. I have used Techlab several times since for various projects, always with sterling results.

  • What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

    Pricing for scans and video transfers are dependent on quantity. Price tiers are available on our web site and you can certainly ask pricing questions here. For print scans there are also 2 flat rate options.

  • What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

    After contacting us we would discuss your project to make sure we both agree upon the service being performed and what is expected. Pickup and delivery is often an option within a reasonable distance or we can meet at a mutually convenient location. Mail and ship orders are always options as well. Once materials are received the order goes into the workflow and is completed as efficiently without sacrificing quality. Upon completion, the method of return would be agreed upon. We strive for 5 star happiness so if something is not up to those standards we make every effort to make things more than right.

  • What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

    I have owned Techlab Photo since 2006 and was personally trained by the previous owners as well as national independent colleagues in the photo industry. Prior to Techlab I had done many of these services on an amateur level as well.
