Kristen Thompson has a Bachelors degree in Music from Towson University, as well as a Masters Degree in Elementary Education, and currently teaches High School Vocal Music and Choir in Maryland. As a school teacher, Kristen enjoys planning and hosting concerts throughout the school year, and working with students after school with vocal and piano technique. While at Towson University, Kristen studied classical and gospel music, Alexander Technique, vocal pedagogy, and directed gospel choirs in Towson, and throughout the Baltimore area. She also performed as a soloist and chorus member in many concerts and operas, within the classical and gospel genres. After graduating, Kristen continued to perform in churches as a worship leader, choir member, as well as an actress in professional stage plays and musicals. Although her focus has been classical and gospel, Kristen has provided students with instruction across various genres such as Theater, Contemporary, R&B, Jazz, Soul, Classical, Art Songs, Gospel, and Pop. She has enjoyed working with both children and adults in the areas of vocal music, piano, and theater for nine years. Her passion is in educating people of various ages in vocal and piano technique and pedagogy, as well as music theory. Within her church community, Kristen continues to perform with the choir and drama ministries under the direction of professional singers, musicians, producers, and directors in the music and theater industries.
