Roy was excellent and all of his work was of superior quality. He was honest, hardworking and more than reasonably priced. He explained everything he was doing and was very professional. Hired him again immediately after the basement was completed to tare down and redo our deck.

Roy has done drywall replacement in our house, took down two half walls and all the spindles, repaired the wall and the ceiling where they were removed. He was punctual each day and finished the job in the time he had quoted. He was careful when working so that we didn't have any additional messes. His prices are very reasonable. We will definitely use him again.

Thanks Ouida! I appreciate you taking the time to provide a review and also for being descriptive! I'm so glad that you had a positive experience. It was great working with you and I'm glad that you're happy with the outcome. I look forward to any future projects and hope to work with you again in the future. Roy :)

Roy did my bathroom remodel. He found several shortcuts and questionable things done by the previous owners. One that stands out is that the toilet was glued to the floor. Roy took it in stride. He figured out how to get the thing unstuck without causing any other damage. He then cleaned the area so that you couldn't even tell it had been covered with glue. I found Roy to be very professional, trustworthy, and dependable!

Went to poor very quickly. A&N abandoned a job that I needed done that week and was very clear prior to hiring that the job needed to be done. Had one morning of rain and was told "Rain Delay" we can't get it done this week. When I asked why such a delay because of a morning of rain received a call from owner screaming at me saying "I don't need this!!!" Tried to discuss through but then he stopped answering my calls to confirm. Lastly got a text : "good luck". Extremely unprofessional, unreliable and poor way of addressing customers. Work that was partially completed was unlevel and needed to be redone.

Be patient..Hear the customer out and what is needed to be completed ..not just shouting out the cost of “this type of work” without even working through what needs to be done.
Details: Multiple room remodel • Entire house • Already have plans - just need installation • No, the project is not covered by an insurance claim • As soon as possible
A&N Contracting's reply
Dear Mike,
I feel like there was a communication gap or misunderstanding since you had a 3rd party come to the appointment and explain the scope of work on your behalf - so there was him and me, as well as another contractor there all trying to communicate with you at the same time. Since you were on the phone, I was making sure you could hear my thoughts about my original cost estimate for the job. I wish you the best in finding a contractor that meets your needs and budget.
Sincerely, Roy Piatt

FAQs
What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Estimates for large projects such as an addition or a major renovation take time to finalize - many discussions between the client and myself must take place to determine the scope of the project, the style of the renovations, and ideas as they converge during the planning and drafting. I can provide a "ballpark" on what something may cost based on our initial discussions, but until the materials can be priced out and labor costs are figured into the equation, a true estimate takes time and possibly must be adjusted as planning continues. Pricing can also be affected by true costs for materials at the time of actual purchase as post-pandemic prices have been fluctuating due to supply chain issues. I am very transparent and upfront about the cost of your project and how that aligns with your budget. My prices are very fair and are usually less cost-prohibitive compared to competitors' prices.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
The first thing I like to do is meet with the client and personally look at the property. I will listen to your ideas, desires, and budget for the project and provide suggestions and ideas based on my experience. If the client decides to continue, we schedule a second meeting where I will provide sketches of the project and provide an estimate. Once we agree on a price, timeline, and expectations, I finalize the contract and begin the project. I will handle all aspects of getting permits.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a contractor's license and I am LEAD certified. My education of construction came from many years of hands-on experience working in the business. I also took several drafting classes that have enabled me to produce architectural drawings and floor plans.
