5/5 TLDR: Excellent Experience and Excellent quality of work.
The hardest part of any new project - especially one including financial investment and working with a contractor - is getting started. I have limited knowledge on gardening/plants so the whole concept felt overwhelming.
Ben was incredible - he was responsive, he was punctual, he delivered work under budget but most importantly he went above and beyond to guide us through the project without being overly pushy. He clearly is a true expert in the space but instead of prescribing what he thought was best he helped us create a vision, feel comfortable with it, and then executed it flawlessly.
We are so pleased and will be return customers whenever we need something.

He went above and beyond to work around my crazy schedule. Two peach and two apple trees were planted perfectly, fertilizer added to soil and mulched carefully. He was extremely knowledgeable and gave me advice and product information to handle other issues in my vegetable gardens. Best of all, he said I could send questions as they arise. I will never hire anyone else for gardening or landscaping work! 100% professional and very nice to boot!

Bill came out to discuss the work I wanted done. He was very knowledgeable about landscaping, suggested various plants and sent me a link so I could see what different ones looked like. As promised, he arrived on schedule, removed all the old stuff, cleaned the flower bed, planted and watered the new perennials. I plan to contact him again in the spring to discuss enhancing my garden with more plants. I highly recommend Dirt Tamers.

What a difference calling a pro can make! This experience was full service! Bill from Dirt Tamers is a truly talented and knowledgeable gardener! I now know the difference between and gardener and landscaper! We told him our vision and her more than delivered. He knew the plants that would thrive in our garden and even suggested plants we never heard of. We have several projects that we can’t wait for Bill to complete! Great value, full knowledge, professional, and extremely friendly! Part 1 complete! Looking forward to the next phase!

Bill at Dirt Tamers was absolutely fantastic to work with. I had an idea for creating a small garden in a tricky spot, and he not only embraced the challenge—he ran with it wholeheartedly and brought the vision to life even better than I imagined.
Bill was patient, thoughtful, and incredibly knowledgeable throughout the process. He took the time to explain what would work best in the space and taught me so much about how to care for the garden afterward and remained mindful of my budget throughout. Nearly two months later, it is still absolutely gorgeous and thriving.
I could not recommend Bill highly enough. His creativity, care, expertise, and willingness to tackle an unusual project really set him apart. I’m already looking forward to working with him again soon!

FAQs
What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Every person is unique and so are their gardens. This can be boiled down to desire, time, and budget. We work to balance these with each client.
Our goal is to create a beautiful, relaxing space that you will enjoy being in.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
After receiving a request, we like to have an initial phone call or on-site meeting. These are complementary. The focus of this step is to discuss and understand your project goals and budget, and evaluate the conditions and location.
Next, we provide recommendations, the scope of work, and estimated costs. Since we do not mark up plant or material prices, all we charge is our time and the direct cost of materials. Our services range from complete garden installs to planning with drawings and other resources to help you envision your garden dream.
To begin work, we typically request a deposit to cover project expenses (typically 1/3 to 1/2).
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Although we are a relatively small team we bring a wide spectrum of work experience and skills to the table for every project. Decades of research and experience in native and other locally viable ornamental and agricultural specimens, traditional gardening and farming, technical drawing and design, engineering and construction, small business management and artistic production.
