FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I have three available lesson slots, 30 mins, 45,mins and 1 hour. I charge per lesson per month at $120, $180, $240. I do have a makeup policy for missed lessons that can be discussed.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I like to hear a new student play for me first so I can see where they are technically. From there I can start to build a custom lesson plan for their technique while learning songs they love! Good solid technique on the guitar is a must if you want playing to be enjoyable, therefore I start each new student with the basic technique fundamentals, even if they are already a good player. Solid technique and note/tab reading creates a solid foundation. I like to have a new student choose 3 artists that they would love to play from. Come up with a few songs from each one and we start creating lessons that get them playing those songs while developing great technique.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have been playing the guitar for over 20 years. I've always strived to work with teachers that pushed my technique and my ability to read music. I went on to the Peabody Conservatory of Music where I earned my Bachelors degree studying with Ray Chester, Julian Gray and Manuelle Barrueco on classical guitar. I went on to earn my masters degree in Early Music at the same school studying with Mark Cudek. I now travel all over the U.S and Asia as both a soloist and continuo player. I have performed at many of the most prestigious halls in Asia and here at the Kennedy Center. I have been featured on many recordings in both the U.S and Asia. I have been invited to perform at the French, German, Colombian, Bolivian and Singapore embassies in Washington D.C.
