Merry Christmas my friend.
Do not know how the other review dated May 2016 is possible. Mr. Bahman Ghavami (Bobby) started my basement finishing project on 12/17/15, and stopped coming back since 2/17/16 leaving my basement halfway finished. The worst part is he took all my money and does not want to finish the project claiming that he fell off the ladder and injured so much that he can not even walk. Now I see other reviews for the works in May, and he is hired a couple of times between Feb and now (6/16/16). HE IS A LIER. I wish I had never dealt with him. Unfortunately, he took away my money and left me a half finished basement. I am going to sue his ass off and get my money back. Homeowners, be aware!Jun 18, 2016VerifiedMalik Maki Construction Company's reply
To respond to Mr. Bo's extremely unfair allegations I say that about 2/3 through project , I fell down his step and badly injured my back to the point that I could not straighten my back and couldn't pick up anything. It was nice of him to allow me to stay off work for couple of weeks and even asked me from time to time how I was feeling . But after this period he suddenly became hostile and even though I had sent him my medical records , he threatened that he will sue me for not showing up to work as if I was lieing to him about my injury. I also had all my tools worth $ 6000. 00 in his basement, which he has confisticate. Then he ask me to give him some money back , and since I did not want any hard feeling between us I started to give him monthly payments of various amounts which he has confirmed to my thumbtack agents and that is how thumbtack put me back in their cycle. I have been back to work now but he would not let me get back or give my tools back. In my 30 years in business I had never had any problem with any homeowner , and in fact I have become friends with many of my previous clients . I say to mr Bo that I'm sorry that I got injured at his job and could not go to work for good few month , but he should had treated me better than he has . I sincerely wish him luck in his project , and ask him to please be more fair to people . By the way I could have hold his insurance responsible for my medical treatments and wage losses , but I did not do that.
Bobby is very friendly and finish the project on time and quality. The price are reasonable and satisfied with the work. He completed two projects and I will go again with him for future projects.Oct 24, 2016Malik Maki Construction Company's reply

Thank you love for your great review.
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?I am very flaxable in that department , understand owner's hardships at times , work with them on payments extensions and sometime give them time to come up with the final payment . Since I see how happy they are with my work , I have no doubt that I will eventually get pay.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?Besides the fact that I am a civil engineer , I constantly attend seminars and study the latest methods of construction.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?I went to the university of West Virginia and graduated in civil engineering , which is directly helpfully in performing my work. Since childhood I was interested in using my hands and build things. The fact that I really love my job and take extreme pride in it makes me very happy to be in this line of work. Getting to know different people and perform different tasks almost every day makes my job very interesting. All and all I must say that I feel blessed that I decided to chose this line of work for living.
