FAQs
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I'm an ardent and compassionate instructor who enjoys sharing the gift of music with children and adults. Music enriches the communities in which we live and expands our capacity to connect with humanity. I studied privately with Philip J. Teibel of the Buffalo Philharmonic from childhood through High School. I toured the Southeast US with the Oberlin College Choir and Orchestra in college. Since graduation, I studied with Amy Beth Horman, Violin Professor; San Francisco Conservatory of Music Pre-College and have performed with numerous ensembles including: Soulful Symphony and the Baltimore Symphony at Meyerhoff Symphony Hall and Strathmore Music Center in North Bethesda. I have performed as concertmaster and soloist with Michael W. Smith and the McLean Bible Church Orchestra. 2000 - present - Concertmaster McLean Bible Church Orchestra 2015 - Concertmaster Worship Orchestra of Washington with Steven Chapman at Kennedy Center Main Auditorium 2013 - Performed with Pan American Symphony at Latino Inaugural at Kennedy Center Opera House 2013 - Member of Faculty for Liya Foundation Summer Music Camp Rivne, Ukraine 2011 - La Universidad de Ricardo Palma Lima Peru Honorary Diploma for performances with Pan American Symphony Lima Peru
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
A professional songwriter encouraged me to teach her daughter violin nearly 30 -years ago. Her daughter studied with me for a year then departed for LA to pursue her true passion for dancing. She was ranked among the Top 3 Contestants for "So You Think You Can Dance" during its inaugural season and is currently a professional choreographer.
- What types of customers have you worked with?
I have worked with child and adult music students at various levels of development: beginner, intermediate, and advanced. Ages range from 6 - 70 years.
