About this pro

How does your service stand out?

My work stands out from the others because I can blend the best of all faiths in to a wedding that is unique as the couple who is getting married. I also am the one who can calm the couple down while they get ready for the service. I perform weddings for all kinds of couples, including same-sex couples.

What do you enjoy about the work you do?

The thing I love most about this is the ability to point a couple toward the rest of their lives with a memorable service.

Debby was just fantastic! She made my fiancé and me feel at ease instantly. Her quick wit and casual style also made her delightful to work with. She was very accommodating to our wishes and needs. The ceremony (handfasting in the woods) was beautiful, and the bugs magically dispersed when Debby began the ceremony! She made the whole day very easy.

Debby did our wedding on Christmas day and did an excellent job. We wanted a small, intimate ceremony and she did it exactly how we wanted it. She met with us prior and put us at ease right away. Her patience, sense of humor, and wisdom were second to none!

Debby Morris rocks. As an officiant she saw to it that we were comfortable with our wedding rite, and as a counselor and teacher she is excellent. She's witty, smart and generous. We are blessed indeed to know her.

Reverend Morris did our handfasting and it was fantastic. She was appropriately somber and funny. There were a couple things that came up that were beyond her control, and she handled them with grace and professionalism.

Reverend Debby Morris was an absolute blessing! She's incredibly easy to work with! She's a fantastic listener, and a very caring and loving person. She was able to take into account all of the different faiths throughout both sides of our family, and created the perfect service for our wedding. I couldn't have asked for a better reverend!

Q&A

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
There are always new little additions and new meaningful rituals, the Traditional Celtic Handfasting, The Sand Ceremony, The Unity Candle ... what ever the couple wants to include. I teach workshops, and I attend them often.
How did you get started doing this type of work?
I have always been pulled to the ministry, I just wish I could do it full time.
What types of customers have you worked with?
Custom weddings, from 1 hour duration with "high church" ceremony and pomp, to the intimate 30 minute simple ceremony.
Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?
I was able to write a ceremony for a truly ecumenical wedding. The groom was an Atheist, the bride was Pagan, the groom's family was Jewish, and the bride's family was Southern Baptist. It went exceptionally well, and turned out beautifully, and everyone was pleased.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
Think about what you want YOUR wedding to look like, and work with the minister to get it just right. Whether you have a formal rehearsal or not, you will end up with a rehearsal ... it just might be last minute instructions to wait for a cue or stand over there.
