In this day and age where mental turmoil is at an all time high it is more important than ever for people to have a place of refuge. That’s what I was looking for when I reached out to Maylex. I needed help transforming my empty apartment into a place that I could come to and relax👌A place that reflected the styles of elegance, comfort, and art. I had no idea which type of “look” I wanted. I just wanted for people [including myself] to come into my home and say “WOW‼️” Maylex helped me discover the exact style I was looking for. She was well versed in her interior design knowledge and was extremely patient with me, which meant so much. She came to my home and shared ideas with me, which helped me visualize the “look” I wanted. Through her advice, I was able to purchase furniture that met my taste. In the end, literally everyone who has come to my place has given me lots of compliments regarding my home decor. Many have said “Wow!! Your home looks like that of a top class ambassador.” When I come home from work or from doing errands, I’m so pleased to come to my “Refuge.” As I am about to turn 30 this year, my home reflects my transition into a more refined, regal and confident woman. Mavis is the best of best hands down, after purchasing my first home I wanted a fresh look but didn’t know where to start. After extensive research I came across Maylex Design and was very impressed about how she brought home design back to life for the owners. Not really knowing where to start Mavis took her thoughts and ideas and turned my home into a modern palace suited for a king. All I can say is WOW, as a law enforcement officer and military service member my days are always long and busy and it feels good to come home to peace and tranquillity all because of Mavis. I’ve gotten so many compliments that others are inquiring about her service. Her attention to detail is unmatched, and she makes sure the customer is satisfied. I can go on for days how impressed and grateful I am how she designed my home. Working with Mavis was an absolute dream! Communication and flexibility are so important and Mavis made everything clear, concise, and easy. Cherry on top is the fact that she REALLY cared about my wedding and was so personable. She went above and beyond my expectations, even surprising me with extra details! Mavis did our small church ceremony decor as well as our restaurant decor at a separate location. She went toe to toe with our restaurant staff to really advocate for us and even bend some rules and make sure we experienced everything to its full extent. I don't usually wrote lengthy reviews, but Mavis is most definitely worth the 5 star rating and more. We are so happy with her professionalism and care! Highly recommend!

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
We have competitive pricing. This is done intentionally so clients don’t break the bank in the home design project. We offer discounts you can’t refuse. We also have monthly promotion deals that we encourage clients to take advantage of.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
3 step process:
1- consultation: get to know client’s taste and desired look
2- acquisition: acquire items needed
3- installation : put the design together and complete work
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
My educational background is law. But I love interior design so much that I took courses to better myself in order to be able to offer professional services. I do this because it’s my passion and what excites me!
