We got three different pros from Thumbtack to come out for initial quotes and Fuqua's Remodel Authority was absolutely the best choice in terms of professionalism, reasonable cost, knowledge, straightforwardness, and overall vibe - to be honest. Quick note - there is a big divide between contractors who are a bit more costly and want to provide all of their own materials and others that allow you to use your own materials. There were several companies that were of higher cost and would not take the job because they would only guarantee their work if they could use their own materials. I think that's kind of ridiculous. We have our own stylistic design choices and preferences and want to be able to get what we want and I felt strongly that they should be able to guarantee the quality of the work via workmanship. So, if you're looking for someone to provide you with everything - that's fine but we had bought a bunch of our own hardware already (faucets, lighting) and tiles and things like that... so we really wanted to go with someone who was flexible and could work with our materials. Fuqua's provided all the waterproofing and rough-in materials like the Schluter materials (except edging) and pipes. They were flexible and able to work with stuff we bought and ensured that they would be guaranteeing the work and waterproofing, etc. Ryan really worked hard from start to finish to communicate, note our preferences and what we wanted, and to make sure that we were happy. He was not the one coming in to do the work but made sure we felt comfortable with his crew, of which he has multiple working different sites at once. We had the privilege of having Kevon and Alex working on our bathroom. They were terrific. They worked so hard, knew what they were doing and really had a strong work ethic and knowledge of what they were doing. They were very kind and respectful of our space - always ensuring to close doors and clean up and put down floor protection and walk on that. They really took care to never invade our space and appreciate that we were working from home on certain days while they were working on the bathroom. They were incredibly professional and would really be able to work very independently but would also make sure to ask us when there would be specific preference questions like which side did you want which faucet or what size and locations do you want the shower niches. It took a little bit longer than expected - I believe they worked maybe 11 days total including a Saturday to finish the job - but it was a significant job of a fairly large master bathroom that was already totally gutted that needed to be built back up from scratch. Ryan stopped by almost daily and atleast was available via call or text at any time. It was really impressive that Ryan, while visiting other sites all day and going to gather materials from distributors - would still always make time to pick or call you right back and talk through any ideas. There were only a few times that we were concerned - such as when there seemed to be a slant on the shower wall - and they walked us through it and made sure it was built up properly and that we were satisfied with their corrections - and they did a fantastic job. There were a few times where we had asked for something or didn't love the choices - such as when we had wanted some older wooden beams cut out from previous water damage or the wall using drywall instead of Duroc for the part that would get hit by water in the shower wall - and each time, without making me feel bad - they would remove whatever they had already done to go back and change things the way I wanted. That was really important for me because I didn't want to feel bad when I would say I wasn't happy with something and they were extremely kind and flexible with these kinds of things, including when we decided the shower space was too narrow and we wanted to extend the width - which ended up requiring us to move the toilet. Although it did end up tacking on extra cost, Ryan made sure to let us know how to remain within codes and when I was nervous they would be mad, Ryan simply said it's okay and reassured me that they're able to make these changes and it's better now than before the tiling is put up. Ryan also got us a great deal on a shower door due to his access to distributors, inventory, etc. They did the entirety of the bathroom - from the finish the seams of drywall, painting, installing toilet and vanity, building up the shower and installing the door, tiling the walls, putting in the baseboard/trim/moulding/casing on the doors and windows and wall/floors/ceiling and the hardware such as mirrors and towels holders. They even came back out when the caulk they had used turned a bit yellow after a few days in one spot and they came out and redid it right away and now it looks terrific. I am so happy with our choice to go with Ryan and his team. I don't know about his other crews, but I know Kevon and Alex were AMAZING and Ryan really keeps his pulse on the work and the satisfaction of the customer in a way that I haven't really seen of other contractor companies. I would 100% recommend them and would very much consider them again for any future remodel that we might need for the house.

Anyone who's ever had to hire a contractor knows that one of the greatest challenges is finding a company with integrity and follow-through. When I began searching for the company to remodel my bathroom, I sadly encountered several that didn't have one or both. I lucked up upon discovering Fuqua's Remodel Authority. This is a family owned business with heart. Mr. Fuqua came out to my residence to discuss various options with me; he provided photos and videos (as I am a design novice) and I immediately felt assured. This was the attitude from beginning to end of the project. Mr. Fuqua and his team completed each step when they said they would; his team arrived on time to work, and completed the project beautifully. His team of Kevin and Alex were incredibly respectful of my home and honestly felt like family. And the finished product is spectacular.
I am beyond grateful to Mr. Fuqua for showing up as a true professional. I will utilize his company for all future projects.

At our initial meeting Ryan was very professional and an active listener to the updates we wanted to accomplish in remodeling our master bathroom. He provided details on the work that would be done and promptly sent us a quote for the project. Working with Ryan was exceptional. I had never remodeled on my own before and he helped me come up with a design that was simple, sleek and sexy. I had to replace a tub due to water damage caused by previous owner and decided to do a full remodel and create an ensuite bathroom with my bedroom. Of course there were unforeseen problems due to the fact that this is an older home and things happened. And unfortunately things didn't have quickly enough at times, but all mishaps got fixed. Workers could have been a bit cleaner and there was a language barrier but all things that needed to be done got done and the result is amazing. In fact the workmen even installed a new storm door for me and did a couple of other extra things. Will use Ryan again for future projects for sure and will recommend him highly.
