Introduction: I think my work stands out because I listen to people and deliver what they are looking for, not what I want to accomplish for the day. A smokey eye might look good on someone but that does not mean they want to wear it. You have to deliver what your client is asking for. I also happen to think I'm a good artist and I'm punctual. No one likes someone who is late. I love working with people and I'm obsessed with beauty so being a freelance makeup artist is pretty perfect for me. I also enjoy making my own schedule, which makes me flexible for my clients.

Melissa was a fantastic make up artist. I hired her to work on an HGTV show for my production company, and she was very professional and did a great job working with our high profile talent. She was fun, quick, followed direction, and was super easy to work with. I liked her so much that I asked her to do my makeup for my wedding day. She was so calm, so sweet and my make up was gorgeous and flawless. She even gave me some tips of what make up to use on my own. I highly recommend her!

I have gone to Melissa for facials, make up tutorials and product selection. She is fantastic at color selection and understanding the time constraints and lack of make up aptitude of her clients - namely me. She helped me select products that are easy for me to use that blend or accentuate features flawlessly. Because of her, my korean eyes are lined and perfect.

I have been seeing Melissa for years and I won't let anyone else touch my face. I see her for facials almost monthly and it has made a huge difference in my skin. She doesn't just do a stock facial, but varies it based on what my skin needs that month. She also periodicly reviews what products I am using to make sure they are still appropriate and notices/ scolds me nicley when I have been slacking on my skin regimine. I have also had great experiences using Melissa for make-up and waxing.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I think one of the best forms of education in my felid, besides classes, is the observation of my peers. I love looking at other artists work. Comparing and contrasting to myself has proven valuable to me time and time again and social media makes that so easy today. I do take quite a bit of skin care classes because that technology today is moving at such a fast pace.
How did you get started doing this type of work?
I've always been very artistic so working with makeup came naturally to me. Rather then pen to paper or paint to canvas, Im working with foundation and blush to skin. The application is a bit different but the love is the same.
